View Full Version : Epic completable with pick-ups?

On last step of the epic, and I am in a small guild which doesnt have the members to help me. It is proving ampossible to get a group to even try the swashy epic due to its dificulty, and trying to get a slot in another guilds group isnt happenening and many seem to be wiping tiem after time trying to get their guys through and are not prepared to help others.This fight seems to be causing a lot of problems - all the ending and other fights I've done for others epics were easy - hell the wedding part of our quest was harder than any other classes epic fight I've taken part in. is this fight over dificult? Reading the tactics thread really seems it over hard and is putting it out of reach of non-raid guild instance group level folks - is that intended? if it is then are other epics to easy?

<p>finished mine last night and i have to say honestly; very unlikely a PUG will get this one done.</p><p>the last encounter requires a raid level tank, a raid level mezzer (for ease), and some serious heals + dps.</p><p>we did it with 3 healers, 2 swashies and a bruiser, but took 5 tries... can be done much easier with a dirge/mezzer, but we managed..</p><p>all in all - very tough fight, need to get lucky on a few things and have everyone knowing [Removed for Content] to do the whole time.</p>

<p>I wouldn't say that finishing it with a pug is inconceivable, just very difficult to find people that would be willing to help out unless they are guildmates or friends.</p><p>Explaining how to do the fight and getting through all of the questions would also be difficult to do in chat alone. Using Vent was very helpful in walking people through how the fight would work as well as letting everyone know when the adds and bird was mezzed and for calling when ae blockers were coming down.</p><p>Even with a good group it may be a tough fight if the mobs pathing is buggy and the pirate or the bird gets stuck under the ship. Very easy to get frustrated with this fight since even if everyone is doing what they are supposed to you can still wipe.</p>

I finished mine with a pug.  me, pally, coercer, fury, defiler and conj.  Most had some raid gear, but mostly legendary stuff.

I would say very unlikely unless you're lucky.My guild has died 60+ times on this fight and still no luck. I guess it's nearly impossible without the stiffle immunity pots that you get a guild level 50 and 70.

Kill them.</p><p>Then have the tank go to the deck of the ship and pull Pirate Jones. Bard blade dances on the pull. Mezzer mezzes the bird and tank walks Pirate Jones away from the bird to avoid getting taunted off. Pile all the dps on Pirate Jones. Anyone with a stun or knockback use it on Pirate Jones, swashie can be running stupefying poison as well.</p><p>When blade dance goes down swashie uses advance warning.</p><p>Mezzer mezzes the remaining 3 adds when they come over to play.</p><p>Eat one ae since immunity is down by this point and just kill Captain Jones then take out the adds.</p><p>From the time Pirate Jones is pulled to when he dies should take less than 1 minute, he does not have a lot of health or hit hard.</p><p>There is still some luck involved in the fight as the bird and Pirate Jones seem to go under the deck sometimes and you cannot target them but they sure can target you.</p>

Kill them."Does this work? because if it does I'll give it as advice to my swashie friends who haven't been able to finish.  I tried this when I was working on it and was unable to get the adds from the second ship, I did manage to like pull jones though. Where would you position on the upper deck?</span>

I did mine with a pally, inq, warden, dirge, swash first pull <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

It may not work if the swashie does not have the Reach line.</p>
