View Full Version : Where can a pally solo quest in his mid-60's?
<p>Hi all,</p><p>I've been a casual player since launch, a few months in, a few months break, etc. and my main is a 64 Pally who tends to solo due to erratic playing habits. I really want to do the content that came with Rise of Kunark but I'm a little low to cut it against the starter quests there (I've tried).</p><p>I spent my high 50's to now in both the Kingdoms of Sky zones and Loping Plains and I seem to have cleared the quests in both area's for solo up to around level 67 and I'm struggling to find new quest content.</p><p>Can anyone give me pointers as to where I can take solo quests to get me from mid-64 to 66 so that I can do the Kunark without endless deaths please?</p><p>Cheers for taking the time to read my plea <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" /> </p>

<p>If you've exhausted LP solo-quests and are too low to solo-quest Kunark, there's only the grind or groups available to you.</p><p> Not helpful, I know but truthful... Sorry!</p>
That's what I feared, nose to the grindstone then I guess <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/1cfd6e2a9a2c0cf8e74b49b35e2e46c7.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

I was in your situation once! I spent lots of pp on collections <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" />I also AE'd mobs in Barren Sky - got about 1ish% per pull.
<p>Ah yes, collection quests. It's been a while since I spent significant money on those, I'll have a look and see what I can afford to do <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" /></p><p>My grind area of 'choice' (what an ironic turn of phrase) will be Barren Sky too.</p>

<span class="postbody">>>>I spent my high 50's to now in both the Kingdoms of Sky zones and Loping Plains<<<Lesser Faydark -- quests are 50-60 so the first few will be grey but you can do them quick (if you find someone a little lower to mentor you can get AAs and xp). Subsequent quests should be green for you and will generate some AAs.</span>
<p>Cheers Karlen, I forgot to mention I had cleared those too.</p><p>The only ones left I can find that I've not done are the ones given out by the faires around the shadowed grove and the camp just outside it (near the Loping Plains entrance) and all they have left is the Heroics :o(</p><p>I actually loved those quest chains in that zone, quickest I'd levelled for ages and just because I was having so much fun <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" /></p>

I don't know about anyone else, but I can't imagine doing the quests in RoK at 66. Two days before I bought the xpac, I betrayed from SK to paly (which oddly enough I had started off as), got App 4 for all my spells, was sitting on a mix of mastercrafted/legendary/fabled gear, and was getting pounded on by the solo blues two levels below me. I could take them...one at a time. Maybe it's just me, maybe I just had to re-learn the class, I don't think so. Be careful when you get to kunark, the solo mobs are about 3 times nastier than the solo EoF mobs of loping plains of same level.Rrin
<p>Well, I've been in Kylong Plains and completed a couple of the solo quests involving mobs immediately off the docks area but each kill was a life or death battle with me finishing very close to dying and then having the downtime associated with that each time just wasn't fun.</p><p>Those quests were completed with me just into 64 so I figure 66 should give me that little bit of a cushion compared to my fights at 64 and allow me to be that much more effective. I appreciate that I won't be truly comfortable until I'm nearer 68 though but at least I should be able to quest that jump.</p><p>Just not going to be fun grinding my way to 66 to find out, have only managed to put 40% on since I started this post.</p>

KOS has a bunch of decent quests in Bonemire for mid 60s and Grizzlefazzles tower shield that I have just recently replaced at 76.

<p>The key to starting the solo quests in Kylong Plains is to make sure that you are equipped and specced for soloing. A simple point, but one that is frequently over-looked.</p><p>You could also continue doing the Tears Grifters quests in Maj'Dul.</p><p>In addition to the collection quests, make sure you have finished all level-appropriate Lore and Legend quests.</p>

When I run out of Quests in an area I go to City Quests mainly for the exp and status points. If your going to kill for exp you might as well get status points. There is also legend and lore quests, pick those up when you can. I only play for 2 hours a day so I solo most of the time.

1. go to allakhazham.com, click on QUESTS- BY TYPE. then click LORE AND LEGEND, and literally go down the list and grab each and every one of them you can, and make a list of the ones you need from higher zones, This will help you tremendously for free attacks with dangerous mobs. 2. city writs, and finishing out old quests, you are going to gather a crapload of quests in kylong plains, fens, jungle, so get rid of crap quests you dont need, by completing, not deleting. 3. make some freinds, questing from the beginning is the best way to hit kylong plains, I HAVE NEVER GROUPED, AND UNGROUPED SO MANY TIMES IN MY LIFE in any game as i have in kylong, fens, jungle, jarsath. It is really cool, you will someone doing the same mob you need, next thing you know your hitting the same quests, sharing, and sharing completed ones, its really great, but i dont recommend kylong until your 70, i went there continuously at 72, i hit loping plains and unrest like mad from 69 to 72, got lots of good gear and loot to sell from unrest, kyle bayles was a lifesaver when i got to kylong, i had a good set and it paid off, watching a 73 pally struggling. enjoy the plains, while you quest your butt off, and constantly fly back and forth on sokokar, just do all the quests.... all of them. i hit 80.. and i never even got to jarsath wastes, i went from 72 to 80 in kylong, fens, and the jungle, cause as you bounce back and forth there, you will get groups in those instances around there fairly frequently. And please, do the Paladin community a favor, and take the time to get your silicate loams for your adept 3's so you dont look like a [Removed for Content] when you cant hold aggro tanking, or cant emergency heal worth a crap. You will hit korocust in chardok, youll hit crypt of agony in sebelis, and you need mending faction at the reet camp in jungle, and the goblin dudes in the highton in kylong, that way you can bounce from instance to instance and mend in between and become a dependable player. good luck and have fun!
<p>Don't forget about the Ashen order quests in DOF if you haven't done them already. They are upper 50's and if you haven't done them yet as a set give a ton of XP if you can stomach the repetitiveness of them.</p><p>Good luck and happy questing</p>
