Now I don't want to complain about how challenging it was for a level 12 adventurer to finish this quest on a PVP server, it is my decision after all to stay at that level, fair enough.

But sorry, Domino, what were you guys thinking when you decided on the designs for the cloaks? The Weaponsmith cloak is by far the most carelessly created piece of a rug and just by looking at all 9 on the same page, every person in their right mind will pick out this one like the black duck from a family of white ones.

I know the weaponsmith was never high on the prioriity list in this game, there are still wrong recipes and weapon stats, our best adornment is for a neck (!) item, we still only have throwing weapons back for t8 and not lower tiers (at least we got *some* back, I guess I should be grateful), there are only t8 epic weapons and not armor, etc blablabla. These things have been mentioned so often in recent months (and even years) that I can only assume they are deliberately ignored. This list could go on and on.

But honestly, with the design of the weaponsmith cloak you really have managed yet again to show the total lack of respect for our tradeskill class and the players that have - despite all the challenges - sticked to this craft.

If you want do to us a favour, at least take away the throwing daggers (!) on the top of the cloak and the crossed leather belts including the ARROWHEADS (!). Then take away the silly bags at the bottom (what are they supposed to carry?) and at least the cloak goes from ridiculous to boring.

If I didn't know better someone could assume that this cloak was initially supposed to go the woodworker and "someone" has objected and cloaks were switched with weaponsmith. Some other items in the center of the woodworker cloak and it actually makes for a wonderful weaponsmith cloak.

It's really disheartening.

Regards

Sha

P.S.: 99 out of 100 sane people will pick just exactly one cloak as being an ugly one, decide for yourself if you are the 100th person. http://eq2.eqtraders.com/articles/a...tr=060020260000

Let's first keep in mind that the cloaks are not the reward for the epic crafting quest, as Domino herslef has pointed out. The reward is the solstice earring, which you help to recreate - even the dialogue in the quest is aimed at this particular earring. The cloak is an extra or a byproduct - just a little something extra to sweeten up the deal. Many people are doing these quests for a unique cloak, but that's not really the purpose of the quest line - it's kind of like doing claymore to get the pet love and nothing else

Also, I don't see how you can say that the weaponsmith one is the worst. As far as that particular cloak goes, you mentioned the throwing daggers, but earlier in your post you also mentioned that in t8 weaponsmiths got throwing weapons. So why is that an issue? I can understand about the arrowheads perhaps, but what's wrong with leather straps and some bags at the bottom? It's not like a weaponsmith wouldn't ever use leather - after all, what else are youo supposed to wrap the handgrip of a sword with? Wood along won't work - it doesn't grip so well.

If anyone should be griping about their cloaks I would expect it to be woodworkers or armorers. The armorer cloak is very plain, I mean it's just panels of metal with almost no detail and the woodworker one? I'm glad I don't have a woodworker so I don't have to be disappointed in a cloak. It's very bland, in my opinion, and I'm surprised that I really haven't heard either of those classes complaining - at least the weaponsmith one has some nice detail on it, and it doesn't look too bad. I mean come on...at least you didn't get a spoon and a rolling pin

And as for your mention about Weaponsmiths making neck adornments - when has crafting class ever had anything to do with what slots for adornments they make? My carpenter makes adornments and she can't even make something people can equip! Much less symbols and wrists slots. The adornments were just divided up, and that's what your class got.

It's not that you aren't entitled to your own opinion or anything because you certainly are, but personally I think that weaponsmiths definitely didn't get the short end of the stick. You definitely could have gotten worse, and every other weaponsmith I've talked to about it likes their cloak, so all-in-all most people seem to like it. And if you find that you still can't like it, simply wear a different cloak and display your title and wear your earring. People will still know your profession, and that you finished your epic.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but your laundry list of grievences about the class have nothing at all to do with the design of the cloak, so what exactly is the puropse of this? To again list Weaponsmith issues or say you think the cloak is fugly? And neither has anything to do with the Epic quest itself.

Personally I think the Weaponsmith cloak is hands down the best looking one of any profession. It's the only cloak that I've found that I would wear that does not display Guild heraldry.
