View Full Version : "Secret" Room in 5-Room Houses in Qeynos/Freeport

A few days ago, I happened across the tiny secret door in the 5-room house in Freeport (on the second story room/landing). After trying (in vain) to get in the otherwise-inaccessible room, I did a search on the forums here. Apparently, it's a holdover from an old class quest or something. I also read that the 5-room houses in Qeynos have a similar "hidden feature" (along the odd walkway above the house entrance, I believe).Since the room on the far side is apparently complete (ie, not missing textures or the like), would it be possible to plead/bribe/coerce the powers-that-be (read: Devs) to perhaps create a full-size door (secret or otherwise), so that the room could be used? Pleeeease? I'm going to avoid the temptation to call it "easy", since I hate it when people say that about anything in an MMO, but all we need is a bigger hole cut in the wall. It seems odd (and somewhat creepy) to have a room of your house that no one ever goes in. It's like something, when mentioned, that causes everyone to fall silent and avoid eye contact or something...

(( thats where you hide the JumJum stash and all your treasures from the Iron Hills so the Sackvill Bagginses dont find it when they claim the deed!(It was also used in the Hallowe'en Haunted mansion quest, that was fun I think it should remain as is. A little nook or cranny that only your pet rat can get into Doesnt your house IRL have a milkbox or something? Perhaps a high shelf in your closet? You cant climb up inside those places can you? Just for storage ^_^Honestly though, i once saw someone who stashed all their Status-reducing eggs inside it, a massive pile. out of the way, so they dont have to have 1000 eggs all over the place

I think you can get inside it enough to pick stuff up , if you use "spirit totem of the monkey" or some other illusion that makes you real small. Friend of mine crammed it full of those bear rugs that reduce status rent. Then decided to make a floor out of em that hovered over the open area , by stacking boxes to place each rug.

He was an Ogre, so maybe a small race doesnt have to use an illusion , I couldnt get in it either being a Barbarian.

Somewhere in a Dev interview about a year ago, they said they were going to give those doorways, then they never did. In fact, the way they said it, I was fully expecting to find another room after a particular update, and was really disappointed when nothing happened. It seems a shame to have a room like that and not be able to utilize it.

I'm using this space as my servants' quarters. ^_^

Mind you, the servants' hall is downstairs off the scullery in the space by the butler's pantry. When I found it, I said, 'ah ha! a perfect place to stick bunk beds for the servants and a dirty bedroll for the knives and boots boy!'

The room is complete (graphically), and the game sees it as a valid place to put furniture/house objects. I can't really see a reason why they shouldn't knock a hole in the wall for it. If they didn't want players to have it, I'm sure they would've closed it up long ago. Besides, now I can't help but notice where the room is on the outside of the house...

The Dev who said the rooms would be opened was Domino, I believe. I've been looking for where she said it, but can't find it yet. Really wish I would just fave everything like that I see. Lol
