Howdy all you Wizzies out there.

I'd like some comments on other Warlocks that have changed to Wizzies. I know the 'common' understanding is that SOE loves wizzies more and things like God's and items (epics) seem to be better suited to wizzies.

However that aside I'm wondering how many make the jump over to Wizzie? And just some comments on how you like it now?

Worth it? Waste? Even? Etc.

Thanks in advance - I've been a Warlock since day 1, and am considering it (pvp server) - but grass isn't really always greener on the other side.

However reading the posts here, this is a much 'happier' class board than over at the dreary warlock board LOL.

Peace

Gildon

Happier by Far.... and have never looked back. My biggest drive to change was "not" that I found the class bugged, but there are so many preconceptions about Warlocks that it is hard to get a group. It seems to be a common belief that Warlocks have arrgo issues and when not in encouters don't do enough dps. While both points might have a grain of truth to them they are really blown out of proportion. Warlocks hit alright (own all encounters), and Wizards have just as much arrgo problems (kinda) That being said, I love my Wizzy and would never change back. Same utility (ie; none), same ports, way better root, and way better dps, better fun spells, easy groups, happier community... Warlocks do rule in encounters but I do not missing running around the globe looking for the best encounters to grind. It is much more satisfying to just pick anything. I'm not sure if that is any help. But for me, it was not an illusion. The grass is definitely greener over here.

(( trolls around ))

I guess I am throwing my 2cp in a forum where my opinion was not asked, so apologies in advance

I played a wizzy (pvp) to 70 and for the most part liked it. I was asked by my guild to betray and come back as a warlock for raiding. I too, have never looked backed. Warlocks on a pvp server just flat out own. Period. Group battles are insane, and often we are the first target of an opposing group due to the damage we are capable of. As for soloing, manashield and wards have made us a somewhat viable solo class in pvp. So, my suggestion is play what you like and are most comfortable with. Both classes are really good and a blast to play.

The nice thing about it is, play a wizzy for a bit.. then betry, come back as a warlock. If you don't like the lock, go betray again and be a wizzy once more.

Anyways, sorry to troll!

Good reply, I should have mentioned that I don't pvp and I don't raid. But I agree, play as one for a bit then just betray. The only thing you will lose are your Adepts and Masters. At the lower lvl's that is not so much of a big deal.

I am a pver but i have a 70 plus warlock and wizard.Wizards are easier. The spells and secondary effects makes things easier for the wizard. The snare effects, knockbacks large single target nukes makes there lives a bit easier then warlocks. Warlocks can still achieve what wizards can its just takes a bit more effort on the players part to figure it out and do it. warlocks dont get much stated above, if they do get a secondary effect its usually a fear, which isnt as great. And there single target damage is a bigger mix of DD's and DoTs then wizards. All i can say for now hope it helps

Would I than find all my original Warlock spells back in my Knowledge book (because I scribed them during my first "life" as a Warlock) ?

Would love to have an answer on this.

Aivile l80

Wizard

To my knowledge, no. You will need to get your spells again.
