We can chose other types of optional downloads whether we want them or not why can't we stop LoN downloads?

Please give us the choice to stop what should be something OPTIONAL that you are putting on our computers.

Thanks

Most of us don't play this sony-money-scheming game, why force us to have server downs constantly just to update a game which MOST OF US DON"T PLAY.

Because it is not a optional download, if you accidently click on the start link in game your client will crash out, the files need to be there. plain and simple, their game, their rules.

Another thing to consider is that even if you don't buy packs or play the card game, the items from the card game are in use by other players in the game at all times, AND you can get both the cards and the loot cards with out having to buy anything.Personally I've pulled about 3 booster packs from mobs now, but have not spent a dime on the cards. Parts of LON are around you all the time, so it's not really an optional thing. Though I do understand what you're saying, that you don't use the client and you don't need all the card art work, yes, that's true. However LON isn't that big of a game either.

even if the servers dont come down we end up patching lon stuff the next time we run the eq2 client. this happened to me last night. I dont want to spend time downloading this card game or whatever patches it goes through, i want to get straight to eq2.

No need to patch raid instances!Don't group? No need to patch dungeons! It's part of the game, deal with it.

raid and group zones dont have their own separate out of game client. let people use that if they want to play cards, or let us have optional downloads for access to the card game in eq2.

The LoN Downloads are miniscule. On DSL, 2 minutes if that. Why is it such a big deal?Get a drink, load up the patcher and go to the restroom, something, anything...That's like saying they shouldn't bring down the servers for an update if "That bug doesn't affect you". Yeesh.

I have to agree with Dreyco here. I remember patch-days in Asheron's Call, where it took a good 30 minutes to an hour to download a patch, as I was on dial-up at the time. Unless someone's playing EQ2 on dial-up (the horror!), it's really not going to be a noticeable change by having LoN downloads disabled.Note: yes, I tried LoN, and no, I don't care for it (I never got into any TCGs, just not my thing).

LoN is integrated into the game to where optional downloads are impossible. LoN cards are standard loot that can be looted by anyone and the items from these cards are also in game. It is the same idea as when a new expansion comes out, you have to download a big patch even if you don't buy the game. Certain aspects of the expansion/LoN are in use by EVERYONE and thus needs to be patched.
