Warlock Root - only works 50%

Just started EQ2 again on a PVP server as a Warlock.  I'm levelling vs mobs atm, but I'm finding my root is only working 50% of the time.This is making me really really annoyed as success hinges on my root working.  I'm struggling to take down mobs one level above me.  My INT is now at 59 (don't know if a higher INT increases chance of hitting with root) and my root is admittedly only apprentice level.Do I need to travel to a broker and but a master book for this?  I know in PVP I'm going to need to have master roots to keep me alive, but versus mobs one level above me? Really?

Really?</i></b></span></blockquote><p>There is your answer.  While you don't necessarily need a master version you should upgrade to adept 3.  Fix the level of your spell and you will see your root land much more often.</p><p>As for mobs above you, the resist rate you see on the spell description is the chance it can be resisted by someone your level.  When you are fighting mobs or pvp higher than you they have an even greater chance to resist.</p>

As stated above, upgrade your roots.  Both of them.And increase your Subjigation.

In addition to the advice given above, also note that DOT (damage over time) spells tend to break roots faster than flat damage spells.
