Very new wizard. I saw someone the other night with a book flying behind him. I searched the threads and seems that the pet book is not available until after level 40?

There was one reference to getting a pet book after you obtain your first AA? In a nutshell can someone please tell me when I can expect to have a book flying behind me? ( I checked the quest guides and could not find any info)

Thank you!

"Summon Familiar" in the sorcerer AA tree gives 3 abilities to get a familar. The book is one of them, and adds chance to do critical damage. You should get this AA, it is pretty good. Most use "/pet hide" to avoid having Ro imp and the familar blocking the view

There is also a "funspell" for this at some point, but not sure when.

EDIT: You will start earning AA points from level 10 (by doing quests and other "special" actions).

On a PvP server, I call these the "follow me and kill my owner" pets. Becareful how you apply it.

Just use the pet options to set them to always hide by default. Then when you are invis noone will be able to track you by your pet./doh!
