<div>well, regarding the contest where you run in antonica and collect as many flowers as possible in a 10 minute limit</div><div>im wondering whats the secret/quest hint, etc?</div><div>i know theres got to be a set path or place to get the most because for the past 2 years, a player called keltrin has been the #1 winner all the time. ive spoken to him and he wont reveal the path, so im wondering if its listed somewhere or what the path is? is there a special place to go collect a whole messload?</div>

Best way is to do a couple of 'test' rounds, sign up for a couple with main intent of scouting the areas as well as you can. Some areas have much higher ratio then others and some are pretty barren. If you take the time to find the patterns it might not get you to #1 spot in leaderboards but should atleast net you some winnings. Cant give you any locs tho since I pretty much forgot them durin the year that passed. Its all about takin the time to scout around tho really.

What REALLY stinks in this run is if there is a tie, it goes in order of Alphabetical <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I have been tied for first a few times and came in second place. The only thing that I can think of is that my name starts with an S while the other starts with an N..... GRRRR!

<div>well, none of those answers the question, however i did do some scouting around during some of the races. i thought that the speed buffs and such were taken away from all players making it even but---ive seen players race right by me, pick up a flower, then race off totally disappearing and i cant catch them. i know when you get the multi colored ones, you get temp speed, but i know they arnt because even when i do find one and get the speed, the others still manage to zoom right on by me, ahead of me even, and get the flowers...[Removed for Content]??</div><div> hows this possible?</div><div>still cant find a bunch in any one area though. i may find 10 or so here and there , then after that its a clear landscape then i stumble on 1 or 2 if im lucky. still cant figure out how the others are moving so fast though. </div>

I would be pleasantly surprised if anyone told you a great place for these hearts... as it will be giving out their secret...However, You can open the quest window and keep it open while you run through the zone with that window open and hit join from any place in the zone. Some of the more populated areas seem to be a ways away...I usually end up near Windstalker Village for mine... But I only get 20-28.As far as I know, all run buffs are canceled when the quest starts... a way to even it out so to speak. The multicolored hearts are the only buff allowed...Good luck!PS. Actually, if you keep the window open that allows you to join, leave or see the results, then you can rejoin the quest from any place in the zone. I thought that this may be helpful (I didnt know it until just now... I always ran back to the quest giver...lol) SO I just move the window partially off screen so that I can pull it down when needed...

<div>funny you mention that kai, because when i was waiting by the npc to join, somehow another person joined as well and wasnt near the guy, must of did what you said. only thing tho, the box blocks up half the screen, cant see leaving it up the entire race. </div><div>as for the speed buff, since i posted that theres apparently something very wrong with it then because iv seen numerous players speed right by me, harvest a flower, and move on before i harvest even one. no, its not my connection or vid. card...i have a T3 connection and a nivida 8800 card, so its not that. a troubador which i seen was good at speeding and i sent him a tell to ask how he moves so fast and he just replied with a </div><div> <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> he won first place 4 times in a row. </div><div>so apparently somehow others are able to move as normal during the contest.</div>

Saw that on my server yesterday as well. I didnt realize at first the buffs were cancelled so I thought he was a bard with 90% runspeed. We both started at the quest giver and he was flying past me from the start before a single heart was collected. Not sure how that happens but in reading the thread, thanks for the tips.

You can move the box partially off screen easy enough so only a bit is showing. Pull it back on screen when you need to...As for the run speed buff, I can only tell you that ranger buff disappears as well as Druid run speed. I do not know about Bard.... perhaps I should try it on mine to see, but she is quite young...

The multi-colored hearts give a 65% run speed buff for a few seconds.

I've got a quest item (or is it a collection reward) that's 10 food with a 40% speed boost. I wonder if they're using something like that.I've had my suspicions too. I watched a guy running around full tilt. It wasn't his speed so much as the duration it lasted. Mine gives out after a couple of non-multi-colored harvests. He was going non-stop.

someone on my server had like 63 as the high score... that's gotta be some hack. How is that possible? The quest says 10 minutes, but it's really only 5 minutes. It takes about 5 seconds to harvest, that's about one every 12 seconds. Impossible

Is it just me or is the flower run bugged on Runnyeye? I can not join, screen is greyed out and keeps telling to wait 4, or 3, or 4 seconds before joining. Too bad because last year I had some much fun with this game.

Runnyeye is bugged and only 1 run has been done this year. There is a thread about it on the Runnyeye forum, I have bugged it and I don't know what else to do. I hope they can fix it soon, since it seems we will only have the holiday in game for about a week. For those that are sure some sort of cheat or hack is in when they see people having records for 59 or 63. My own record is 54 from last year and I can assure you I did not cheat. My own speed buffs were removed when the game started and I could only use the multicoloured hearts for buff. There is some knowledge for how to get good scores and an above poster has already said a lot of it.Scores up in the 50ies is definitely possible without cheat, the guy with 63 was probably lucky with his run. Just because some people are doing well, it doesn't have to be because they cheat, but so often people think it is. I guess that is the easy way out instead of improving oneself. Sorry for the last grumpy part, but all this talk about cheats got to me.

The high scores listed are from last year, when the run was 10 minutes instead of 5. I don't think it's possible to get that high this year.

I wonder if it's some left over from last year we have gotten and that is what is bugging it?I still think some people are too fast to cry foul play sometimes. People called it cheating last year too, you see <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> But if people really think another player is cheating, perhaps make a petition and get it over with?

I'm aware about different areas having better/worse yields. And I'm also aware of the luck factor about where those multicolored nodes get placed. I've got a pretty good route that gets me in the mid 20s range if no one else is in my area. But I've seen some folks score in the 30s (think 34 was the highest) which would shatter the top score under a 10min setting.

I dunno.. The top score on my server is 71, and it is from a player who did not exist last year. (I was on the top scores last year when the run was 10 mins, and no longer see myself there either.) Not saying cheating has to be involved, but I have no idea how people are getting some of these scores in 5 mins..

<div>moving the box was a great idea, i dont have to run all the way back to the npc and repick up the quest and i get to stay where my hot spot, or so i think, is.</div><div>i still see other players running really fast pass me, without getting the multi colored hearts. theres definately something going on. i managed to get a score of 29 with my average being in the 23-29 range every time. </div><div>on my server, butcherblock, people are selling the 1st place prizes which are lilies or roses in heart shaped vases for 8p!!! believe that?? ha hah a, unbelieveable.</div><div>but oh well, if they gotta cheat then so be it, since its only 5 mins instead of 10 i guess 30 is the highest possible. on my server, last years highest was 59 by a player called kealin or something like that and i actually spoke to him last night, and he explained that this year its not poss to get that high of a score because of the time limits. he wouldnt tell me where his hot spots were but gave me some good advice.</div><div>once again, thanks for the keeping the box up info. it sure makes it easier <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div>

I just join up, head up to my preferred hunting area and then, when the game starts, the quest window pops up, accept, and off you go.No real reason to keep track of how many you have collected as you go, unless you have a masochistic streak, and there should be a countdown timer visible to let you see how long you've got left.Having said that, this year, my best is in the teens, lol.

<p>Ok, you tell me how, in 5 minutes, you can collect numbers like 71 or 86. All things being equal, these folks are harvesting hearts every 3.4 seconds, excluding time to go from one to another. You want me to believe there is a legit way to accomplish this?</p><p>My wizard or fey can join as soon as possible, port to the far side of the zone, get to the best harvest place I have found with time to spare, and my best score is still only 28. Sure, I've found double nodes and fast nodes. I've even found some clusters of hearts near each other, but no where have I found a node that keeps poping hearts forever. Most of the nodes are evenly spaced apart. So you folks want me to believe that there is a place where "lucky" players can find 70 something clusters of hearts?</p><p>On the other hand, we do know that there are hacks to harvest 3 items off a node in .5 seconds. We do know that there are hacks to make run speed increase.</p><p>I'l give you that some players are lucky, I have been. I'll give you that people who don't "know the secrets" complain rather than try to discover the advantages, but there is no way I'll accept a legit player harvesting over 70 or 80 hearts in a 5 minute time span.</p><p>And as my wife points out, they are not even afraid of being caught. Their name is on the high score results!</p>

Not sure if this happened to anyone else, but I won the run in antonica the other day and didnt get anything for it at all: No idea if this was an isolated event or not but kinda bugged me. A bit off topic but as there was a topic on the runs I figured Id post it here instead of making new thread.
