Few questions about transfering servers.

<p> Ok, I been doing some research on what happens when you server transfer and from the vauge info that is out there including the sony.com search engine in the help section, I have some questions im not 100% sure on.</p><ol><li> If no one on the server you wish to transfer too has the same name as you, do you get to keep your orginal name? Some posts I have read have mentioned you have to chose a new name, reguardless. If this is true, is there a way to keep my old name with out getting hit with another fee to buy my old name back? 3 account moves + 3 renaming fee's = angry customer.</li><li>The Vault slots in your house, on the help section of the station.sony.com site it mentions that vault slots are classed as normal inventory slots and that you can move no problem using that as a inventory slot but have to purchase a new house on the server you move to, to get the items back. I have also read some posts mentioning they had stuff in thier vaults only to move servers, buy a new home and have nothing in thier vault slots and no follow up in thier posts if a GM retrived the items for them.</li></ol><p> Everything is as clear as water apart from these 2 questions, do not have items in the shared slots, clear out your broker.</p><p> Thanks in advance.</p>

<p>I moved from AB to Guk not long ago, and all I can say is this....much of the info in the official transfer "FAQ" is rather dated. As to your specific questions, based on what I experienced...</p><p>1) If no one already has your character name on the server you are moving to you can keep your existing name. If you have to change your name for the transfer there is no fee for that.</p><p>2) Your house, house vaults, and restricted bank vaults WILL transfer with you (and they always have as far as I know--they did 2 yrs ago when I initially moved to AB and they do now). ALL items in your house will move, including those belonging to other characters that have been placed there. This didn't used to be the case, and the FAQ still says they won't, but they all moved with me...including items from characters I deleted ages ago but placed there to hold on to them. Your shared bank vaults, broker slots, and mail will not follow you to the new server though.</p><p>If you buy a new house after transferring (which I ultimately did) it works the same as any time you buy a new house--any items inside will be placed in a moving crate in your new house. It didn't used to work that way--you had to empty your house before buying a new one, and that is probably why people lost items.</p>

<p>I am guessing that platinum does not transfer.</p><p>So if I decided to move from one euro server to another then  I would be better off putting everything I want to take in bank vaults and then transferring.  To the guide I have to empty my broker before I go <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>
