Complacent includes a daze for 6 seconds and a threat reduction.

Is the threat reduction temporary too once the 6 seconds are over? Does everyone go back to hitting you again after 6 seconds when you are in a group?

No, the threat reduction is permanent.

Personally, here's the strat I use:

1) Fire off Divine Recovery

2) Fire off your biggest heal or heals on the tank or whoever.

3) Hit the Complacency to AE daze. 4) Group Reactive

You'll get the most bang for your buck that way.

Of course, this strat will change depending on the beating everyone's taking, etc.

I've played EQ2 for only 6 weeks now. Templar the whole time, love the class.

I honestly thought Complacent was a useless spell, until I started using it last week in a group. This spell is great! No wonder it has a 5 minute timer. Time to spend some AA there.

BTW the daze effect is supposed to last until target takes damage. Since the target of the spell is self, I think the text of the effect might be wrong? The daze seems to last until the dazed creature takes damage, not when I take damage...

I know what they mean, but the text of the spell effect is wrong.

The spell targets mobs in its area effect (so long as they are not epic), not the caster. It reduces the caster's threat to those targets by x,xxx and is dispelled if the target receives hostil action or takes damage.

I have to admit that SOE use of "target" is often confusing; I still struggle with the description of manaleak, but I suppose they are trying to say something in as short a description as they possibly can.

Complacency, and the whole AA line is truly an incredible line.Complacency itself is an instant effect that will reduce your hate but the daze component has the 6 second duration and will break when (that who is dazed) takes damage. If you're attacking a group of Gnolls and you fire off this spell, you will daze all those within the area of effect. Now if your tank fires off an AE melee attack, the gnolls will resume fighting once again. The hate reducing component of the spell has done it's job though, and all the gnolls should now be on the tank (or whomever is next on the hate list).Max out the Stun (Forced Humility) and Daze (Sign of Placation) - Daze the target, once it runs its duration, Stun, then Daze again. By doing this you can lock down a heroic single target for near 29 seconds. Sure it's not healing, but it strips massive amounts of damage off the tank. Specially useful if your local mage decides he/she would like a shot at tanking. heh.Soothe has it's places, but I'd max others in the line first; Overconfidence is a great final ability though.Manaleak, be careful with this one, it will take power from you (thus the leak part) and give it to whom your healing. If you are usinga group heal, it can trigger more then once up to the max number of people in your group. If your manaleak item dose 330 drain, that can really add up (330x6=1980 power loss, max).Manawell on the other hand, gives you (the templar) power and just like manaleak, can trigger more then once if a group heal is used.

Sadly, this spell is not as usefull on PvP...

It helps, but not like PvE.

One thing to be careful of with this line, it can aggro anything around you, even if your faction is high against it. For example, you could use it to aggro guards in your home city. This can cause issues if you are fighting in an area that also contains non-aggro mobs.

Reds like to stand next to you while you fight, so using it will aggro the red player too. Is ok to buy you a second or two when getting attacked by more than one person in PvP.

FYI, Soothe can be cast on red players, but if you cast it too many times after being resisted by a red player will make you aggro to them and they'll kill you. Just keep in mind Soothe does nothing in PvP, so far that I know of... would be nice to be able to cast it and make you non-attackable to your target. Or would be nice to eliminate tracking ability while on a player
