Hi guys, giving some serious thought into coming back to the game. Two questions; 1) I activated the game as soon as it came out, and gave up 2 weeks after (PC couldn't keep up with the game). To hit the maximum level, am I needed to group to level? 2) Any sort of free month for returning people like myself? Thanks

Yup, you can now solo your way to 80 in EverQuest 2. You will miss out on some questlines in doing so, but it is no longer required to group to reach the end.

I am not sure if there is anything being offered at this time for returning players. That is something you will have to speak to SOE's customer service/support about.

1) As the above poster wrote, no grouping is required to reach 80. You can do almost any group content once it'll be green or below (except epic mobs). Level 80 isn't the end of the game, though. Once you are 80 you most likely have to group to further advance your character (equipment, spells, quest, etc.). Then again, there is a sheer endless amount of solo quests 70-80. So you probably won't run out of things to do solo but you won't see things like T8 group instances or raids without groups.2) If there is nothing on your account you mind loosing, you could buy a RoK all-in-one package and activate it on a new account. That way you get a free month. You have to buy it anyway if you want to get past level 50 or visit all the new areas. There may be /claimable rewards on your old account which you might not want to loose (baby dragon from the collectors edition, etc.).

quote:" To hit the maximum level, am I needed to group to level? "No,welcome to the MMORPG for single players.Already finished Oblivion? As a single player game its much better,no con problems,no annoying downtimes,no zoning, much more stable.

You will be able to use your /claimed rewards even if you buy the new package, as long as you use your old account name. SOE keeps the clock running for veteran rewards even if you're not currently playing, so you should have a bunch of nice stuff!

He/she will loose the one month free if using the old account name I think.

Only new accounts get the 30 days free .

I could be wrong though.

If he initially played way back when the game first came out, he will have a LOT of claimable items. I'd say enough that it would be worth it to forgo the one month free and just pay for it. I would obviously still get the ROK all in one pack, but keep the existing account.

I am only 49, but am having no difficulty getting exp while soloing. My experience is always turned off and I still can level very quickly if I do not ration out the number of conning quests I do per level. With exp on and doing all conning quests I can definitley say that I would be 80 by now.

Unless costs are a reall issue I would reccomend staying with your first account. The /claim rewards can be well worth having an old account. 25% coin reduction on housing and 10% broker fee cabinet come to mind.

I also doubt you have any characters worth keeping. Your best bet is to buy RoK, which will get you 100% up to date content wise and make a new account to get 30 days for free. And you do not need to group ever to hit max level.2) No. I don't think SoE has ever done that for EQ2. I know they did it for EQ1 about 2 years ago, but I'm not sure if they will send that promotion over to EQ2 anytime soon.

The only time that counts for vet rewards is paid time. If he cancled before his first month was up and he was paying month to month then his vet reward on his old account is only up to the one month reward. You would need to contact SOE to confirm this but I am 99% certain of this.

However, I do not beleave SoE's reward clock is sofisticated enough to know if an account is paid or not, it just looks at the creation date, counts the number of days between creation and now, then addes in the bonus days to produce the reward. I am fairly certain of this because I had a seconcd account on SWG that I have cancled, and when I reactivated it that accound had all most as much vet time as my main SWG(station all access) account has, and as the billing and account managment for SoE is the same for all SoE games, I doupt it would be differant for EQ2.
