Any of you lore experts know anything about the lore behind this ?

My epic v2 quest says to find some evidence the proves Mayong Mistmoore has the Bloodmoon gem, so it sounds like i have to find a tome or something - any suggestions on the most likely place to contain knowledge of this history ?

Cheers

Sounds like you need to bloody Mistmoore up a bit.

Sounds rather interesting

There is a tome inside Chardok that i'm interested in that is a 3 piece volume set containing information on mutagenics.

Bloodmoon Gem? That actually might tie in with the lore in the latest EQ1 expansion. There's a tribe of lycanthropic orcs in EQ1's Loping Plains that were, iirc, cursed by Mistmoore (I forget why). Their clan name is Bloodmoon.

Cusashorn wrote:
What the heck is the Bloodmoon gem?
It's lore for the Shadowknight epic that involves the Bloodmoon gem from Malevolence. Maybe a Shadowknight could stop by and fill you guys in.

wasn't that the sword that Lanys tried to create that mayong took from her and handed over to someone else? and was used as the SK epic in eq1?

Without giving away the full story, since its quite intresting..

The bloodmoon gem is a crystal that was made as a weapon to fight against Innoruuk, with each strike from a blade imbued with this crystal it will take the energies of the person it hits and transfer it to the Goddess of Envy Lanys T'Vyll..

Now, guess what we want to do with it

Anyhow, were looking for PROOF that mayong has the gem, once we get proof then we'll go over and slap him upside the head a few times!

Unfortunately, the Proof is being somewhat elusive..

I love how tightly the epic quests are tied to the gods this time around, especially the lesser-known ones that haven't ever gotten much lore associated with them before.

I really really wish that one of my alts could worship Morell-Thule, the Lord of Dreams, but can't in anyway what so ever because he's "neutral" or even "good" and the only god close is his father Cazic who decidedly isn't. I LOVE the idea of how worshipping a god gives you "bennies", I just wish there were more of them. Since Morell isn't showing up anytime soon, here's to Erollisi making an appearance in my life time <raises a glass>.

Ok going to post here the little Lore Text from the sk epic quest so all you lore diggers can have something to talk about.

You guys all know about Lany's being kicked out of the hate family by Inny after the battle of kitchicor(i think not much of a lore expert here) and Lany's turning on Inny after.

(forgot to take screen of first text so going to start with second, hope you guys can understand it)

Quest given by Atira X'aphon in Jinsik, leader of the Primordial Malice.

SPOILERS NEXT:

"The new Child of Hate, Valizrae D'Tora, was rendered powerless and Lany's quest for the ancient artifact of Hate, Malevolence, was nearly complete. If it was not for the intervention of the vampire lord, Mayong Mistmoore, Lanys would have likely undone all the plans of Innoruuk. Sadly, Lanys was killed on Norrath and her sould was sent back to her father in the Plane of Hate, Initially, Innoruuk impreisoned his failure of a creation, but decied to tap into her eternal hatred and jealousy of him and transformed her prison into the Sphere of Envy. From here, Lanys could influence Envy upon Norrath and in turn empower Innoruuk's own Plane of hate. The Thought of unwillingly helping her father gain power infuriated Lanys even more, which in turn only increased the benefit to Hate"

"On Norrath, we remained devout in following Lanys. We toiled unceasingly to do her work even after her physical destruction! It would be the Primordial Malice that Lanys would seek out during the consolidation of the Planes. We were the chosen ones; we would place our mortal assault upon the Planes of Power! The primary planes of Nature and Influence needed to reabsorb the demi-planes and spheres they spawned in order to survive during the first part of the Age of War"

"Innorruk, with all the glee in his dark being began the process of reclaiming the Sphere of Envy. During this period of reclamation, a small rift revealed itself in Lanys prison for only the briefest moment. A moment that seemed an eternity to her, she took this opportunity and imbued the dark blade Sedition(Sk epic) with a portion of the Sphere of Envy and bestowed it onto her followers. A dark smile would be the last thing to cross her lips before her spiritual essence was absorved by the plane of hate."

"As much as i long for you to be that champion, or dare i say i need you to be that champion, you nust furst pass a test. Long ago four chosen Teir'Dal known as the Crimson Teir were chosen by Innoruuk himself to wear four special armour pieces. Each piece secretly drained their life force into it. Lanys T'Vyl was sent on quest by her father to ill each of them off and collect the armor pieces, granting her and incrediblt powerful suit of armor. However, they were raised by Mayong Mistmoore and ordered to destroy us and thwart any plans Lanys may have had..."

blah blah blah kill them and return kinda thing.

Now about the Malevolence:

"Long ago, the Malevolence was cursed by Marr, to wither Innoruuk's power with each kill that Malevolence made. Since then it has been cured of this, and now is an instrument for the benefit of Innorruk. Take this scroll, upon it is the ritual to change exactly who reaps the power from the Bloodmoon Gem. We must change it to benefit Lanys T'Vyl and the power of Envy once you have treive the gem.

"Mayong was the executor of Malevolenve being locked away. The Problem is you cannot just go and ask Mistmoore for the Gem. Frst you will need to find proff that he actually has it."

as stated in the drachnid lore and legend book, these creatures were created by Mayong Mistmoore.. perhaps killing the widow mistress will provide the proof that mayong indeed has the gem?

idk, worth a shot.. any sks out there kill the widow mistress since getting their fabled version of the epic?

You could always try the obvious: kill Mistmoore and see if he drops the gem. I doubt that's what the quest intends, but it's worth a try.

I placed a lot of clues within the dialogue for many stages of the quest. Clues that do not make it into the quest journal purposely. My hope is this wouldn't be one those quests you just click through and run off....at first. lol

I knew there was a reason I liked you -- you're sneaky. I read all the quest text anyway, at least the first time.

I wish you had done that for the Paladin one.the only thing I was told was that the Truth of Marr, originally 2 'ten commandment' type peices of living metal, had been lost in the Sphere of Malvolence (apparently what the guy calls SoF) and thus had been corrupted. he tells me that the weapon can be cleansed and restored, and sends me to the Priestess in North Qeynos. She tells me about the Rings of Contrition, a method to purify the blade to it's original glory, that she learned from an ancient Marrian text. she hadn't bothered to bring it up before, because we were looking for the Truth of Marr, and she thought at the time it was still a pair of tablets, and not a blade. The idea is you put the rings over the weapon, and the rings will purify it.the only clue I get is that there must be very secure places, or very powerful creatures that possess the rings. granted that they've been located, at least 2 of them...but just saying 'very secure places or powerful creatures' certainly doesn't narrow the places I could spend days looking/raiding through for them.
