<div>When I plug the Ykeshan War Club and the Star of Morning Glory, both from CoA, into the crit adjusted DR formula, the War Club wins by 3.8% at every crit level. However, the Star has 25 haste and a damage proc versus the War Club's stun. If I adjust the Star's delay by the haste (to 3.2 from 4.0 since my base haste is only 4) then the Star is 20%!!! better.  Does this pass the smell test? The stated DRs on both are quite close with the edge to the Club.  I just find it hard to believe the itemization dev would make a level 77 weapon so much better than a level 79 one.  The crit adjusted DR formula hasn't steered me wrong up to this point, though.</div>

<div>As a sanity test, I plugged in the Crystalline SS against the Star. Both have the same base delay, but the CSS has a wider dmg spread and a higher max damage so intuitively it should do better and better against the Star as crit% goes up. This is how the numbers indeed come out: the CSS is 1.6% worse at 0% crits and 5.6% better at 40% crits with a delta of roughly .2% DR per crit%. Remember, this formula measures DR not DPS. The thing with the Star is that it's worn haste, similar to the Cloak of Flames, or Flowing Black Silk Sash, and not a +haste mod like you see on newer gear. If you already have a +25% worn haste item (Cloak of Flames being the most obvious example), then the effect is wasted.
