View Full Version : Necromancer: major FPS drop with certain pet spell

Hello everyone! Just started playing EQ2 yesterday and i absolutely love it. My Necro reached lvl20 today, got the spellbinder as a pet and that's where my problem started. I'm running the game very fine with about 50+fps on very high quality (incl. certain settings even tweaked up). Even if both my necro and the spellbinder are firing their spells in combat, my fps barely drop below ~35 -unless the spellbinder casts this red smite which lifts these skulls. Using that spell, as soon as the red flash hits the ground and the skulls appear my fps suddenly drop to below 1, my machine gets totally stuck. When the skulls are gone again, the fps go up to their usual count. I tested around with various settings (primary adjusting the particle settings) but without any success. Unless i take a very low setting that doesn't make the skulls appear with that smite, it keeps locking up my fps for a few seconds every time. So far the game runs flawless, but this spell just kills my machine for a reason and i cant use that pet at all. If anyone has any hint i'd really appreciate it as i was really waiting to get that pet, been so happy to hit 20 today. Thanks in advance and have a nice weekend everyone!
