Expecting new content? If you did not do old HQ's such as Screaming Mace and Bone Bladed Claymre dont expect to do anything new for awhile. I did not do those quests on this toon. Did em on others but now I am forced to go clear grey HQ up to even start my EPIC. I expected dragon language, words of magic and other quests required by claymore series and lucanic series but not these old HQ.

I expected dragon language

The first part of the epic should not have any steps that require a raid.

BBC should take a few hours... screaming mace... well that's gonna be a bit more of a pain.

As a Brigand I agree, that is a rather lame start to your Epic :/

I also agree that needing to know the languages (such as Draconic and Magic) was expected... I also expected to need to go back to old zones I haven't been too in years to progress the quests doing new things. Or even perhaps having to work up my tradeskill abit for some combine even.

What I didn't expect was to have to replay old HQ's that I never really needed too in the past, or camp contested grey heroics for rare Legendary drops that spawn only once every 2.5 hours and sometimes have placeholders for updates.

I thought SOE got the message awhile back (and they agreed) that camping rare spawns for rarer updates wasn't a very fun thing to do and they where moving away from those things... I guess not.

Luck on your Epic, and like you I'm left very disappointed.

~Xilixx

An 80 should be able to do it pretty easily.

I soloed SM around 60 - its not that hard. Anyone who's made it to 80 should be able to manage it. Although I can appreciate how there could be issues with lots of people trying to grab the same mobs.Personally Im more bothered by the need to kill an Epic x2 later on.

The SM is not a difficult quest when everything is grey. It's a campy quest. Hours to camp Agony, hours to camp the 4 named. Yes, it takes hours even though you can slaughter the entire zone. The SM was the only weapon HQ that I never did because I had such bad luck on the Agony spawn back in the day. So, I found myself in CT this week with a few other 80 guardians, slaughtering the zone and hoping for the named to eventually spawn. Thankfully, the guards that I encountered were all friendly enough to assist each other with the camps and we got through it without too much pain and suffering.

I was upset as well since I did neither of them. I completed the BBC last night and just got the quest starter for the SM today so hopefully will finish that up soon. The only thing that has come from this is that I will pretty much have a walkthrough for my Epic. It would have been fun to be there looking for Tags and junk with the others though

Yes Terror in Shard of Fear is considered epic x 2, but its a GROUP instance, he can be one group. We did it with 4 guardians, a templar, and a swashy. Its not that hard.
