Hey all, i'm new to EQ2 so i'm looking for a bit of advice.

I've just started a Human SK who is now lvl 17. I have search the SK Forum & have been working my AA's I'm currently 4-4-6 Int but will eventually be 4-4-8 int before moving onto Reaver.

Last night i managed to solo the whole Dwarven Ringmail Tunic HQ including killing the orange mobs in crushbone just in my Newbie ROK armor & weapon. Are there any Heritage Quests around my level for a good weapon? I've been told to get a Ghoulbane or the Shiny Brass Halberd but someone else told me that SK's can't use either. Is this correct? I'm guessing these quests come at a later level?

Onto tradeskills I trying to decide which would be better for my SK, Armorer or Weaponsmith? I was going to go Alchemist but my friend makes all my Spells for me if i give him the rares. I current have Unholy Weapon at Adept 3 & Blessing at Master 2. I currently only have a secondary Tradeskill of Transmuter which i have 54 points in (friends have been giving me all their trash items to transmute

Thanks for any help in advance

Shiny brass halberd is about the only thing you can get around your level (from a level 28ish HQ). I suggest getting a master crafted tier 3 2 hander until then (just farm for the ore if you need to).Tanks are very gear dependent... and tanks get the most out of armor... so naturally, if you are going to be making your own, it would be cheaper (more time consuming, since many times rare ore costs more than the armor made.....). What most people do is get to level 80 adventuring, then work on their trade skilling after, since it is that much easier to farm for matts (since most mobs are gray, you don't have to bother clearing anything).

And a pain to finish it for everyone

The ghoulbane quest is started by a level 8 quest in North Qeynos "Vida Needs a New Broom" that rewards a "Dusty Blue Stone", followed by a couple steps in greystone yard and north/south qeynos to get the actual ghoulbane HQ once you get to around level 30.

You can buy the dusty blue stone sometimes on the AH or just make a good character and do the quest then sell it to yourself over the AH or get a friend to transfer it (Lore so can't be mailed). The qeynos steps after are doable if you are evil if you sneak around via the sewers. The HQ itself is a royal pain and usually ends for most people at the cauldron hollow step. Its a mini-raid zone that you have to kill several 2xepic bosses for the final credit to restore ghoulbane. All for a weapon that honestly isn't worth the effort anymore.

There is a 65ish HQ to upgrade it however and the empowered ghoulbane is much better.

Work on your mining skill, harvest the cluster rares for each tier, harvest loam for Adept 3 spells for your important spells. Spending a little time a day or every few days harvesting will be the best way to keep your character up-to-snuff until t8 when you join the current bulk crowd of players. MC gear is about the best you can attain easily until lvl 60. At that point you can run instances in KoS, EoF, and finally once you get to 75, RoK to attain gear and masters. Until then mastercrafted gear is economic and intelligent.
