I have been playing for about a month, and love the game... but can't stand the quests in this game. Half these quests require you to clear an area, then wait for respawns of said area to complete. Why is it, that a quest requires you to kill 10 seers, when there are only 3 of them? There should either be an increase of Seers, or a Decrease in the amount required for completion. It almost seems like SoE forgot to count the mobs VS Quest requirements. Then collection quests... I think i swam around in everfrost for at least 3 hours worth of combined time collecting the 5 shards needed for the grave quest. They were never up! Then the Rivervale collecting ale quest. I visited every spawnpoint for that ale every time i went to runnyeye, and still never got past 2/5 quest peices. Vallon/tallon Gravestones are another good example. In the entire time I quested in Zek on my dirge, I never made it past 3/5 for any of them. The peices were THAT rare. But what really hit me over the head was last nights "The missing mask" run. This zone is an instance. There is no reason at all to REQUIRE people to camp mobs in an instance. And as far as I have seen, it is the only case so far that calls for it. But there we were, sitting for 15 minutes between priest spawns waiting for billy, then again for the Hog. Luckily, we discovered that zoning out/then back in resets the PH's, or we would have been there all night. How can that even be considered a good idea? Who in SoE said "Lets make people camp mobs in instances! That will really keep them playing this game!" I played EQ1 for 3 years. I can understand rare named, requiring PH's and camps outside of an instance, but not in it. Thats just rediculous. It is hard enough getting everyone togeather for an instance run, but then forcing us to twiddle our thumbs for 15 minutes between kills is a little overboard. The missing mask has been in the game since release though, so i am really confused as to why this is still a requirement for the quest. I can somewhat understand on other quests, since the majority of them were added later and rushed to compete against WoW; But a quest in the game since release? This game has loads of potential, and so far I am enjoying the dungeon/instance aspect of it more than i ever did in WoW. However, quests that take 5 hours for no reward other than EXP, simply due to the fact that there just aren't enough mobs to kill/items to collect for quest completion; are old fashioned and seem highly unpolished. I would love to complete every quest I collect. I have always done 100% in MMO's. But these are just not worth it. I'll continue playing, instances/dungeons still own. But is Kunark like this? I may have the drive to keep going, but some of my WoW ADD friends wont last long if every quest is painful. And heres to hoping kunark doesn't completely [Removed for Content] my shadowknight!
