Guardian Epic Quest Starter!

Pre-requisite: You must have your Bone Bladed Claymore in your possession when you speak to the NPC. Make sure it's not set to be mounted into your house (i.e. put it in it's weapon mode, not trophy mode).

Speak to Jimbo of the NEW Steel Warriors in Windstalker Villiage in Antonica. You'll be asked to give up your BBC, but, it's an 85th level question, so, you should have better.

You'll be given the quest- The Search for Val'Arek which takes you to Commonlands.

And, there you go! Happy Hunting!

Cheers!

http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Guardian_...Weapon_Timeline 1. Take your (E)BBC with you to Jimbo in Windstalker Village, while talking to him you loose it and get the quest.
2. Head to the Commonlands, to loc 619, -57, -208, and click the scroll in the water next to the skelly. Read the scroll to update your quest.

3. Next thing head to Feerrot. Go to the Tower of vul (next to Obelisk of Blight entrance), and look for a small tabled in the corner of the wall at -914, -1, 551. Click it to spawn an 83 normal golem type mob, kill it and click the tabled again to aquire the it and read it to update the quest.

4. Go to Cazic Thule next, have your Screaming Mace with you, and head to the far back of the zone, past the drop down part to the Ux Uval room (the zombie). Talk to the NPC terror there called Kelteez the Covetous to update your quest.

5. take out your Overthere gate hammer and head to Jarsath Wastes. Head to the house on the far left and buy the Rallosian Garrison Journal from the faction merchant. (Loc -104, -39, 1106)(cost ya 2.4p). Stop whining it's only money Read the book to update your quest.

6. Next head to Kunzar Jungle and go under the small waterfall at 528, -8, -436, and hit the breakeble wall there. Head to the back of that small dungeon and click the dagger in the rock to pop the ghost of Vel'Arek and talk to him to have him tell you where to find Urduuk and Kill him. You will have to gate out of this spot one way or another, since you cannot break the wall again from the inside. Or be lucky enough to have another guard come buy this spot to set you free and trap him or her next

7. Next step info is still needed as we are still trying to figure out where this guy spawns. (possible he is in Shard of Fear)

2. Head to the Commonlands, to loc 619, -57, -208, and click the scroll in the water next to the skelly. Read the scroll to update your quest. This is incorrect: the location is 619, -57, 208 not -208Its worth being precise

So, help me out here because I think I'm going loopy...

I'm looking at Vel'Arek and, setting the lame look of the weapon aside, I'm looking at it's procs and I think I'm missunderstanding something.

It says: "On a secessful attack this spell has a chance to cast Wrath of the Warror on target of attack. Lasts for 12 seconds....

* Inflicts 428-641 slashing damage on target

* Redusces all physical damage done to target by 5%.

...

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!?

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but why the hell would I wanna do 5% less damage to my target? And for 12 seconds, too!

Please, somebody help me out here... Where is the tactical benefit of doing -less- damage to the bad guy? I mean, it's not an aggro control device as you'd think -more- damage is more aggro. Is this a typo? Is it a flaw in the weapon that gets removed when the "Raid Version" is introduced?

My next question is- Is this weapon considered an improvement over RoK content weapons or Soulfire Gladius?

So when the mob is hitting you it will be doing 5% less dmg.The wording on it is badly done, but thats what it actually does. Hope this helps. As for you other question. After testing, it is ahead of the RoK weapons and marginally head of some of the instance obtainable Kunark gear. However arguably even with or worse than the caroticoid cutter(if thats spelt correctly) or nathsar . But the raid version beats all

Better, imo, than EQ2 Wiki's guardian epic guide is this forum article at eq2flames.Plz forgive what is likely a silly question, but I have never been a raider except as needed to complete major quest lines. Is the Raid version of our epic weapon only usable in raid zones, or is it simply better than the "heroic" version but still usable anywhere?

its not really a debuff. its more of a self buff. since if will be casted on you. and not on the mob.well teh wording on that is strange anyway. would love to get a dev to explain this.
