If what I am hearing is true and you can't start the Epic quests until 80 then strolling around EFP will not pose a problem - regardless of your starting city.

Sark.

For those that don't already know there is a walkthrough on EQ2i.com that is being updated constantly. The forums at EQ2flames.com also hold plenty of info and theory on quest steps. And of course you can join the commonly used Warlock channel from ANY server by going in to your chat options and entering butcherblock.warlockchannel and clicking "Join". Here is a general idea of what your quest steps will look like up till what we are working on now:

************************************************** ***************************************

*********************************Warning Spoiler Ahead**************************************

************************************************** ***************************************

     - The quest starter is a dagger on the mantle above the fireplace in the Seafarer's Roost in East Freeport. Upon examining it you find a note inside refering to a person named "Ritter Shortshanks".

     - Finding out about Ritter Shortshank: Go the the graveyard at the western-most shore in Thundering Steppes and examine the grave to find his confession. This points to "visiting Everling's home".

     - Go to Nektropos castle (The first lower level instance is fine) and locate a journal in the library section of the dungeon, it's a glowing book on one of the shelves there, hard to miss it. The next clue points to finding someone who can tell you more about a warlock that attacked the Everling Village.

     - Go to Ruins of Varsoon in the "Tome of Death Room" and speak to Dalmat Rageshree. He requires you to recover an item for him before he'll give you anymore info on the warlock of Everling Village. He suggests the person should be located somewhere in Qeynos.

     - Go to S. Qeynos at the Lion's Mane Inn and speak to Abelard Raleigh <<BEWARE you will have to fight him for the tome that Dalmat wants.>> Fairly easy fight, you won't kill him, he'll go back to being un-attackable and you take the tome from him.

     - Go back to RoV's "Tome of Death Room" and return the item to Dalmat. He then gives you another book containing the info. that he know's of the warlock at Everling Village. Reading the tome gives you your next clue.

     - Go back to Nek castle and go around to the back and look for the grave of Yasinia Simond. <<Beware upon inspection of the grave a level 80^ mob will spawn and attack you. This mob is more difficult than Abelard in the SQ Inn, but he is still soloable. After defeating the mob you can loot a journal that gives the next clue of a poison originating in Kunark.

     - Go to Teren's Grasp and look for the building Stealth and Skullduggery, inside you'll find Tahd Feek, speak to him and he'll offer to make a batch of the poison for you if you get him ingredients enough for several batches. The ingredients are: 80 Skorpikis venom sacks, 6 mantrap roots, and 10 smoldering materials. NOTE: The mantrap and smoldering materials MUST be harvested, purchasing off the broker does NOT work. And the Skorpikis venom sacks are dropped of the soloable mobs down in the Howling Stone's area.

     - Return to Teren's grasp with the materials and give them to Tahd Feek and wait for the poison to be finished. The next clue points to putting the bottle of poison in a safe place mentioned in Simond's journal.

     - Head back to Nek Castle and return to the Yasmina Simond's grave behind it. Examine the grave, and pour the poison down the hole. This will open a compartment with another journal and an idol. The next clue suggests finding a book for more info on the Idol and the Kyrtoxxulous entity.

     - Return to S. Qeynos (sick of running around yet? =p) and go to the mage tower and take the red portal. Head down, turn to your right and go around, and you can find another gloing book behind a pillar there. The next clue points to finding a shrine built to honor Kyrtoxxulous.

     - The shrine can be found in the Fens of Nathsar at the bottom of the ravine near the Eastern Pens sokokar post. The shrine should be to your West of where you end up at in the water. Your next clue points to following the footsteps and finding the creator of the shrine.

     - Travel to the Kunzar Jungle and find "a pox-ridden reet slave". He should be north of Sebilis in the Trakaraptor Valley. <<NOTE: You need to understand how to speak Froak to communicate with him, this language is learned from the quest you get after recovering pages from "A Mysterious Green Tome". You should be able to hail him and he'll recite his story to you.

     - The next step, where I have currently finished at, points next to Karnor's Castle. You need to find an "Idol of Sakpat'azif" which was taken from the reet slave by one of the drolvarg form KC. This is all the info I have at the moment and is as far as i've gotten, gonna get a group together and head over to KC, good luck to everyone on continuing further, I'll post again when I know more.

~~Edited for spelling etc.~~

Does anyone know if you loose the four idols if you've placed the idols and fail to kill the last level 86^^^ mob?

There's four idols. The first one you get from pouring the poison into the grave in Nek forest. The second you get by first talking with the pox frog in KJ/Trakraptor alley, then killing the Mistmoore Emissary in KC. The third you get by first talking with the captive froglok in lower sebilis next to the myconid king, and then killing the taskmaster in upper seb near the prisoners quarters. The fourth you get by talking with a frog in KJ/Reet camp and then killing either the Queen or its PH at the end of chardok. Then you go back to the shrine in Fens, click on the skele and the warlock spawns. She's 86^^^ but is a walkover; I killed it with a 3-person group. The idols aren't actually items in your inventory. They're just quest pings.
