Where do the epic weapon quests start?Am I expected to scearch all of Norrath for the quest starter?I am a bit confused. These epic weapon quests have been advertised for some time. However, when one first logs in after the patch, one will have no idea how to access this new feature. What is the purpose of keeping the epic weapon quest starter secret? The quest starter for the crafting quests does not appear to be kept secret.-Leucippus

The first person I am going to check is my class trainer in Elddar Grove.

I'm expecting to run all over the world trying to find it... but hopefully someone will first and will post the information. Don't think there's anything wrong with that... it's not exactly fun or challenging to waste hours trying to find a NPC.

<p>Hahaha!  I was just going over the patch notes one more time before starting a thread like this but you all beat me to it by the time I got back here.  </p><p>Anyway, I have to say I'm a wee bit surprised.  Usually we are at least given a hint as to where to begin new quests.</p><p>I agree that it would be very nice if the first ones to find the starter would post it for the rest of us.   I don't really want a whole spoiler but would like to be pointed in the right direction to begin.  </p>

The quest starter is given by the Godking Anuk in a special instance of the Fountain of Life located in the Silent City.  Hope you saved your extra eyes.

Do people realize how crazy this situation is? Norrath is enormous! For the wizard epic weapon quest:I am hoping the wizard trainer in the mage tower. My second guess would be the quest starter for the Soulesk Ro diety quest. My third guess would be somewhere in Lavastorm. My fourth guess would be somewhere in Skyfire. Wizards are fire and ice, so my next guess would be somewhere in Everfrost. And there is Soulesk's eye too! Maybe Naggy is the quest starter! And lets not forget Permafrost. And we better hope the quest starter is a npc with a feather over its head and a circle on the map, instead of a clicky. Or even worse, a random drop off a mob. This situation truly is rediculous. How many toons do you think, on their own, found the quest starter for the Claymore series? That npc did not even have a feather over its head! Can we get some kind of hint at least on where to start these epic weapons quests?-LeucippusP.S. please excuse the typos and misspellings.

The Wizard epic will only be authentic if begun by handing an obscure vendor-sold potion to an even more obscure, regularly ignored  NPC. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<p>Actually the first rumors I had heard were that it will start with Naggy.  Of course that might actually make sense considering he was involved in the other big lines...</p><p> Prismatic 1.0</p><p>Claymore</p><p>etc.</p>

<p>it would be funny if they took the feather away so people wouldn't know where it started without hailing certain NPCs. Added to that you have to read the conversation and actually type in certain key words to advance the conversation. (like it was in eq1) <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/97ada74b88049a6d50a6ed40898a03d7.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" /></p>

Think there was no feather when the game was released... Ugh.About Naggy, hope not, but I guess I'll have to work on the draconic language eventually anyway...

Clearly you folks weren't around for the original run of epics. They didn't give any hints.  Some took a long time to even find the starting NPC.  It's meant to be a puzzle for the whole community to work on.  This is a good thing.Every quest had its own starting NPC.  Don't count on one person handing them all out.  Also, don't count too heavily on an existing quest being a pre-requisite.  This is also a good thing. That said, have fun.

The point of quests is to figure them out. I don't mind the walk through and looking up a quest but it is kind of like cheating yourself of the adventure. You lose a lot of the story if you just zerg your way through everything. these are the current signature quests for our classes and the game at present. Enjoy it.

I am not asking for a hint on how to complete the quests.I am asking for a hint on how to start it.We have been teased with the advertisement of epic weapon quests. However, we have not been given the necessary information to find them.Given all the hype over these quests, they should not be treated as some sort of "Easter egg".-Leucippus

Ypu will need to complete the port hammer first (Lvl 80 quest) and the quest will be lvl 1, so you will see no feather. <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Oh and the NSC will be in the instance under the lighthouse in Antonica. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

Wrong. Just because YOU want to know where to start it doesn't mean the info should be available before servers even go up.

It's how I would have started it- as long as it requires level 80 to start quest, there would be no feather ever.

<p>First You must have completed all previous Epic Level Quest.  This includes Prismatic 1.0, Godking, Claymore and Sword of Destiny.</p><p> Next you must take all the rewards to Naggy where he will take them all and melt them down into Epic Fluff Material.</p><p>Now you must go to the Head of your starting city and sit though a 30 minute dialog and answer the questions correctly to prove your worthy of such a great item.</p><p>Now you must go and gather 2000 totems which are scattered in little caves under every zone. (It was the ratonga who hid them.)</p><p>Now that you have the totems you turn them in to your respective city leader where they will give you a 10 status item for your house to display your hard work.</p><p>Examine the new totem and read the microscip on the bottom which tels you to go back to naggy for more instructions.</p><p>You now have to beat naggy in a one on one duel to prove your worthy of more information from him.</p><p>Once you beat him you need to go and beat every instance in the game and collect a special item from each instance and only 1 drops per instance.  </p><p> Once you bring all these items back you have to talk to naggy again who tells you you need to get a rare drop from the Jaberwocky that has not been put into the game yet, but should show up in future live updates. </p><p> Once you have this item you then have to take it to the secret god forge whose location can only be reached by defeating an avater in combat.</p><p> Once there you have to have a Lvl 80 crafter with max faction (becasue it is the only way to get the recipe) take your Epic Fluff and create the Epic Fluff Bar for your Weapon.</p><p> Now you have to go back and kill 10,000 of any creature to prove that you are worthy to get the recipe to make your epic weapon.</p><p> Now you have to go and Arm Wrestle another diety by clicking on the arm wrestle meter as fast as you can. Rumor has it it requires 10,000 clicks to beat them.</p><p> Now that you have gotten your destroyer title and beat the avatar in arm wrestling they give you the recipe for your epic weapon.</p><p> You now have to make your way down to the forge again where your Lvl 80 maxed crafter friend must work on the legendary version of your epic weapon while mobs pop up every 5 seconds to attack your crafter and interrupt there work.   If the crafter is hit more tehn twice by the lvl 80 ^^^ then they have to start over on there crafting.</p><p> Once you have defeated the ongoing hoards of mobs you will have your legendary version of your weapon and be ready to try part 2. converting it to na epic weapon.  Good Luck.</p><p>Hope you all have a great day and look forward to seeing real info regarding how to work on the epic l&l qust. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" width="15" height="15" /></p>

I just thought of another possible npc: Vox, the cold dragon in Permafrost you have to resurrect during the prismatic 1 quest line.

<p>That is SO not cool that you have to be level 80 to start it. I was planning on using the epic line to give me enough XP to reach level 80 in the first place.</p>

My first stop will be Havras Scutter the Relic Hunter in Teren's Grasp that came over from Somborn Village, he seemed to have a pretty good line on some items in Faydwer, would explain why he took the ship over to Kunark.

My guess is the home trainers in FP or Qeynos or in TG in the class pyramids there.

Its not the class trainers in any of the cities for any of the epics.

<p>Looking at the concept art, many of them look like better graphiced versions of the eq1 epics. They are out with RoK like they were in eq1. Each class's epic comes from a different quest like they did in eq1. The devs are giving us no starting info like they did in eq1.</p><p>I'm going with the assumption that in keeping with this, they will keep the quest starters as close as possible to their eq1 locations. Because there are no so many more classes, they will probably group them together. Wizards and Warlocks, for instance, because they are from the same class, likewise troubadours and dirges, guardians and zerkers, and so on.</p><p>Monks (monk, bruiser) started in erudin. Now, we have no erudin, but we do have starcrest commune, the current home of the erudites. Should that fail, I would try in kunzar jungle. The second zone that has NPCs to talk to in the eq1 epic was trakanon's teeth - which was located between swamp of no hope and sebilis.</p><p>Ranger (rangers, assasins) epic started in burning woods. Burning woods was located between the dreadlands (kylong) and skyfire mountains. Chardock was located in the burning woods. I would guess jarsath wastes around the beginning of the zone.</p><p>Wizards (wizards, warlocks) started in lavastorm. I strongly suspect we will do so again.</p><p>Bards (dirge, trouby) started in dreadlands, by the port spires. I strongly suspect they will start in terrens grasp</p><p>Clerics (inquisitors, templars) started in Lake Rathetear. Looking at an overlay of the eq1 map on the eq2 map, lake rathetear would be somewhere in zek, the orcish wastes.</p><p>Mages (summoners) started in lake rathetear as well.</p><p>Necros started in Nektulos forest</p><p>Enchanters (coercers and illusionists) started in burning woods.</p><p>Shamen (defilers, mystics) started in ocean of tears. I would look on one of the islands in butcherblock.</p><p>Druids (furys, wardens) started in burning woods</p><p>Warriors (zerkers, guardians) started in east Freeport (how the hell did they get so lucky?)</p><p>Paladins started in the plane of fear. I would check the plan of fear instance in feerott</p><p>Shadowknights started in the overthere outpost, which roughly corresponds to the shipyars in jarsath</p><p>Rogues (brig, swashy)  started in highpass hold. Looking again at a map of eq2 placed over eq1 - this would put it somewhere in enchanted lands. I would look in any ruins you might find in the northwestern portion of EL.</p>

i dont really care where it starts or how to do it.  cuz...you know....being a ranger and all.  wouldnt be worth it.  although maybe i should start it now and by the time i have it done theyll fix our bow/arrow mechanics.   kinf of reminds me of a mitch hedberg joke:  "My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen bananna, so I said "No."  But I wanted a regular bananna later so ... "Yeah.".
