Hi allJust thought I would run something past you more experienced pallies!I've just returned to playing my 70 paladin after quite a few months of him gathering dust and rust!Anyway, I got on him last night and decided to try good old OoB and CoV. A friend was playing a shadowknight and he had been regularly tanking recently so he became MT. I switched to offensive stance ready to do some nice dps and into OoB we headed. Well, we had a templar in the group who seemed to be struggling with the healing. So I decided to throw my ward on the MT on every pull and generally help out with the heals (I'm getting to the point, please bear with me!) I had a parse running on my second screen and found, to my surprise, that I was only just to say behind the templaron the heal parse. Of course, my DPS was lower than it had ever been because of my tactic but it was very interesting to see this result. No wipes and we cleared the zone in about an hour or so.In CoV, we had a warden and templar in the group with us but we still decided to experiment with this same approach and I came second on the healing parse behind the templar! Again, no wipes and we cleared the zone in about half an hour.My spec is as follows:WIS 4 4 8 8 1INT 4 4 8 3STA 4 4 8 6 1In the EoF tree, I have 3 points in Enhance: Demonstration of Faith, 3 in Enhance: Intervene and 2 in Raid Armament. So, after that long winded piece of history, how viable is it to play a paladin as a support character rather than a tank? And before somebody says roll a healer, I already have an 80 templar and 70 warden; I'm experimenting here. I ask this because I don't see too many questions on paladins' healing abilities. Is the heal line worth spending points in? Is the support line decent, giving the cures as it does?As I say, I'm out of practice with my paladin and I'm wanting to see just what it is capable of.
