I'm asking you master assassins out there. Before RoK I took some few months off, i'm back now, got my assassin at 73 and i'm wondering was is best to max us out these days, the gear with high str. or with the +CA's? and why?

It would seem that the +CAs right, because in a good raid set up we'll get to a point in our str. where the added str is becoming more and more useless, while the +CA is still in full effect. Is that proper to assume, or do I have it all wrong?

I know there've been some changes, so another question is the delay on our main weapons still heavy duty priority to have it at long delay right? what about off hand fast or same slow delay? The faster on the off hand seems like a smart chioce from where i'm standing, but may be wrong.

Also, should we still be concerned any with our Int. for the poison? Not in the AA line but in our stats.

Thanks guys for your help and time.

int is still important, yes. In the 400s, 3 points of int provides about 1 more damage per tic on the hemo. not sure how much it adds on the other procs.

And I'm still trying to compare str to +CA. With str affecting every CA differently, it's kind of hard to figure for me.

I wouldn't make Str the focus of your gear. Most of the stuff you want to use will have decent Str on it anyway. You want to get it around 900ish to get the deminishing returns point, but as long as you make appropriate gear choices you will get all the str you need. And yes, to some degree you want int as well to boost your poison/proc damage, but that shouldn't be a focus either. Gear with good effects that have Int are just a bonus.

The real question you should be asking is if you want to focus on Crits or +CA damage. My personal preference has been to get Crits up to about 30% (pretty easily done) and then focus on +CA damage. This is based on a poise/repeated stabbing AA spec which gives me a .6 sec cast time (including recovery) for most CA's. The faster you cast the more benefit you will see from +CA. With this setup I've calculated 1% crit to be worth about 15 CA damage, so if I'm currently using something with 2% crits I would swap it for anything over +30 CA damage

As for weapon speed, you still want two 4ish sec swing weapons with a good high end and decent spread. You want the long delay so that you don't lose too many auto attack swings while spamming CA's.

Theres a decent list of non raid gear to look for at http://www.eq2flames.com/assassins/...html#post433409

I would also check out the assassin forums there for lots of good info to increase your dps.

Good luck
