Having an urge to explore the worlds I inhabit, and especially with the advent of Gnomish Spring-loaded Stilts, I have taken to leaping - Parkour-style - around the rooftops of Qeynos and other areas. I've come across others doing the same so I'm sure there will be people that would agree to the statement "Buildings and other structures, natural and otherwise, are rather shoddily put together". Honestly, you can be leaping from a roof to the gable across the street and just fall into the void. On occasion you can fall into strange areas that don't appear to be attached to anything, and which give way under you as you turn around. As entertaining as that can be, it's frustrating to plot a course around walls, lampposts and rooftops to reach a destination only to discover that they don't exist once you get close to them.Oh and Gnomish pogo-sticks FTW, to get some extra height into those jumps!
This is the reason why we don't have flyable mounts, BTW - the devs figured that nobody would ever get up high onto things, and as such many buildings are missing the things that make them buildings from above.

Maj'Dul got me addicted to rooftop jumping when DOF came out. I know exactly what the OP is talking about. Hehehe.

My friend and I used to competitions in EQ1 to see who could get the highest or to the most far off location. Sometimes we fell through the world. Once, my friend got stuck on top of the arena in FP. *grin* A GM had to get him down.Anyway, I miss levitate. Badly. Griffons are nice, but I love starting off from the highest peak and running out over landscapes.

My boyfriend and I love to jump around crazy and seemingly unattainable places, too.Awhile back, the Spring-Loaded Stilts had a bug where if you jumped and equipped them at the same time, you'd jump really high. We wanted to see just how high we could get. that is us sitting at the top of Windwhisper isle in the Barren Sky.I was so sad when they fixed that bug. I do know what you mean, however, with the buildings being almost non-existent. Try getting to the top of Qeynos Harbor, or the edges of Castleview Hamlet, or if you're in freeport, the walls of Longshadow Alley. Once you get to the top there it looks like you're standing in the clouds!
