OK, so it has been many years since I have done any sort of HTML work. I have put together a very basic site on which I have put up two JPG files I want to be able to use as signatures.<div></div><div>On the server my HTML file (titled index.html) is in a folder named 'Sites' and the JPG files are in a folder named 'Images'. If I want to view the webpage the URL is Homepage.mac.com/nabstudio/</div><div></div><div>Here is where I feel like an idiot... I have no idea how I got about hotlinking to the image files so that I can use them as a signature (I am aware I cannot use both at the same time <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />).</div><div></div><div>Can some please help out this old fart who seems to have forgotten everything he once knew about this sort of thing? lol</div><div></div><div>Thanks in advance.</div><div></div><div>p.s.</div><div>I did try using a free image hosting site initially but for some reason it was making my signature appear smaller than it actually is.</div><div></div>

<img src="url here">This is what you put in your signature area under your profile link at the top.I am not sure why your hosting is shrinking it but you can try this also for dimensions:<img src="url here" width="number here" height="number here"> You will just need the exact dimensions of your signature. Remember the forums have a max width and height. I think they raised that recently so I don't know what it is offhand.

Homepage.mac.com/nabstudio/index.html has two images on it, how can I tell it which one I want? I've tried replacing the index.html with the image.jpg but that didn't seem to work.<div></div><div>Grrr.... I know this should be easy. Twelve years ago I would have been fine, when I was designing websites. Apparently it is easy stuff to forget if you aren't using it. lol</div>

Oh!Ok well lets say one is called image1.jpgAnd you have it uploaded at:homepage.mac.com/nabstudio/image1.jpgThat would be your url (homepage.mac.com/nabstudio/image1.jpg)You will probably want to put the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www. " target="_blank">http://www. </a> in front of that.. or just the <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www. " target="_blank">www. </a> I think this varies depending on your host.Just make sure you spell the name right.. as well as make sure you are using the proper case (i.e. A or a) in the url.

First off, let me thank you for your help.. even though I still haven't gotten this stupid thing working I very much appreciate your time.<div></div><div>I have tried all that you have said and I still can't get an image to show. For some reason too even though I have updated my signature under my profile it is still showing the old one (the link to the image hosting site that shrunk the image size on me <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> ). I was, at the very least, hoping that the broken image link icon would show and that you could still click on that to link to my site... just so you could see I am not making up any stories about actually having some images posted <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div></div><div>If you have any other thoughts or suggestions I am all ears (or eyes as I guess the case may be, as we are reading these posts <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> )</div><div></div><div>Thanks again.</div>

EUREKA!!!<div></div><div>I finally got it. I went to my sight and right-clicked on the image. I then copied the image location and pasted that into the signature block under my profile. Turns out I was missing the "images" part of the link. I had homepage.mac.com/nabstudio/image.jpg but what I should have had was <span style="font-size: 11px;font-family: verdana;" class="Apple-style-span">homepage.mac.com/nabstudio/Images/qatarsig1.jpg.</span></div><div><span style="font-size: 11px;" class="Apple-style-span"></span></div><div><span style="font-size: 11px;" class="Apple-style-span">Thanks again for all the help. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></span></div>

When I right click your current broken sig, it looks like you are missing the .jpg part of the name of the image.

I just tried clicking on the image too and for some reason it sent me to:<div></div><div><a href="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/user/homepage.mac.com/nabstudio/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/....com/nabstudio/</a></div><div></div><div>Why would there be all that nonsense about forums.station.sony.com/eq2/user ???? I didn't put any of that in for the link.</div><div></div><div>Time to go mess around some more. </div><div></div><div>I WILL get this whole thing right one of these days. lol</div>

OK, just fixed the link... I think <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div><div>I hadn't included the http:// before my URL so I guess SOE was assuming it was hosted on their server.</div><div></div><div>Hopefully it will update soon and be working. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div></div><div>Thanks for the heads up on that and for all your help earlier today.</div>
