Mystic epic is a 1h crush club...

Just saw this <a href="http://eq2.allakhazam.com/db/guides.html?guide=1124" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://eq2.allakhazam.com/db/guides...html?guide=1124</a> and, while i personally was hoping for a cool looking spear of any kind for my epic, I'll be waiting to see the stats on this before I say anything else.

Agree a spear would have been my aesthetic preference.    At least its a one hander.   Perhaps it will be nice and slow.     Looking forward to great consternation if it has any kind of proc tied to hostile spell.Dreams....+ to heals.Proc Enhanced Shelter on target on heal spell.   (our specialty more wards...)Proc mana on Clicky or on attackProc 20% cast haste on attack.(effecting CA's and heals)Not sure why I'm worried,  chances that I'll find one anytime soon are slim.

I'm disappointed it's not a spear as well, for aesthetic, mechanic, and lore reasons. I agree that there can be argument for club being viable lore wise however.Melee mechanic wise, at the very least, it better have a significant amount of +crushing to make up for all the +piercing stuff that's semi easily obtained by picking up choice 'scout' loot. Though they may just want us to start grabbing Monk leather to get the crushing bonuses- not that they ever would force us to do something silly like that. And my defiler remark was not against defilers but exactly as you say, something where i would really wonder about the logic behind that. I wish I could read the crazy moon language on the concept art. It looks like a thorny vine wrapped around a cudgel, though. Looks more Wardenish than anything to me. If I were designing a Mystic 1H crush weapon, I would have went with a bear motif. That's just me, though. If they go with this then I have no understanding of what they are doing.  There are 30+ HQ weapons with no spears ..or no spears usable by a shaman; and now an epic that has nothing to do with the shaman archetype?  The designers must really hate spears.

<p>I've been real quiet about the plight of the Mystic, but I can't keep quiet any longer.  This is just horrible.  Instead of an awesome spear, we're stuck with some Wonderboy reject that looks like it would shatter after one good hit.  And of course, Defilers get a spear (imagine that).  I'm tired of my hammer and was really looking forward to a piercer.</p><p>This weapon better be freaking amazing.  Like +200 heals, dbl atk, a good healing proc(not shelter), an awesome clicky(cure from stun/stifle/mez maybe?), and an insane high-end damage.  Maybe even a group DPS buff or something.  But going off of current trends, its going to have spell crit and +spells.</p><p>/rant off</p>

Not happy with the club either.What goes through these devs minds?  The spear which is a tradition eq1 shaman epic and the Mystic is closer to the eq1 vision of the shaman than the defiler (imho) and they give us the club!  Not to mention that the spear looks to be a 2h'er which means melee msystics would get waaaay more use from than the caster oriented defilers.  While the caster oriented defilers would get way more use from a 1h weapon!  Wow, just wow.... these guys have no clue!Bets on our epic effects sucking and the defilers one rocking the house?  3-1?  5-1? 1000000-1?

I'll do the quests, but even if the cudgel allowed me to insta-kill anything and never drop under 100% power, I won't use it. It's unattractive and completely wrong-looking for a frontline, melee healer (which is what the EQ2 mystic has become, more or less). I'm not exaggerating - my mystic was wielding Point of Contention until level 75, a crappy and ancient spear, just because I found nothing better looking to replace it with. Very disappointing that our epic is so ugly (though of course, I haven't seen it in-game yet - perhaps it will be better than the concept art implies). Good thing for me that my mystic is also a provisioner - at least the provisioner "epic" cloak looks awesome!

Ya know... simply adding an 'appearance slot' for weapon slots would fix a lot of the arguements over this.  One of the niftiest looking mage staff's in the game, for instance, was a lvl 1 /claim gift I got for filling out a survey one time.  Really wish my Warlock could still use it's appearance.  Not sure why they don't do that.

The defilers have a cool spear, you have a lame club, and both of you have a free spot open for shielding. Great thing that your one of the only Mystics that are happy with your club. You can have mine.
