My fiance plays a 78 warlock. Last night in Lyceum, she parsed a zonewide 700-something. The other warlock hit 1100-ish. My assassin hit 2100. Our guild isn't the biggest, baddest, most-uberest raiders, if you can't tell. Looking to fix the disparity, even within our relatively small DPS ranges, I told her I'd do some legwork and figure out what's different. Her gear is decent-ish (all Legendary from RoK), she's got all Ad3s, but something's going on, I'm guessing, with spell orders. She says things die before the she gets many spells off. My question is, what are warlocks doing to get their parses higher? Is it a spell order? I saw a thread (<a href="http://www.eq2flames.com/warlocks/17408-power-vs-parse.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.eq2flames.com/warlocks/1...r-vs-parse.html</a>) about spell order, but the author of the post (second page) with a spell order list based on number of mobs in the encounter says that it's not really a list to be used to maximize DPS, unless I'm misunderstanding him. I'm putting together a list or two to take home and compare with what she does. If you guys could help out and post up your spell order for kill-it-now-make-it-die situations it'd be much appreciated. Please don't abbreviate spell names, because I play an assassin and I have no idea what the spells do in the first place, much less what they are commonly shortened to. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Thanks, finger-wigglers.
<p>even if she only uses</p><p>acid, vacuum chamber, dissolve, distortion, dissolve, acid, vacuum chamber, ...</p><p>she should parse higher than 700dps (5 aa points in all of this spells). </p><p>let the poison/disease debuff run. armageddon with fh, aura of void, brood infestation, gift of bertoxxulous, neatherrealm, have better dps then the spells i postet above (except distortion). test a bit with these spells, but you can use the spell rotation above as a your base spells, cause they are always up in this order if not on focused casting or tc (cant tell anything about tc cause im freeport aligned on a pvp server).</p>

She should compare her dps output with another mage dps in the same group. It would still not be 100% correct, but it's more reliable that comparing to highest dps'r in another group. On a raid you can have a dedicated "dps group", that contains dps classes. Usually those are buffed up a lot more with e.g. INT bufs, deaggro, power regen, increased casting, increased re-use timers, increased powerpools, etc...They can easily have 150-200 more INT. Not to mention raidwide buffs adding to that.If you are not buffed or are in a "bad" group, e.g. a group that has no buffs which are beneficial for mages, you 'll never parse in the top and that's no shame either coz your groupsetup doesn't allow you. Ofcourse if you have a Necromancer or something in the same group with the same buffs and he's parsing twice as much, then I suggest you check your playing style. A difference is ok, but not that huge.Your skill and and gear is only a small part of it, it helps, but it's by all means no guarantee to parse high. The buffs from individual players, groups and raidwide buffs are not to be underestimated either.

Casting order is a big deal, there are a bunch of spells with long casting time that do little damage. In raid with 770 Int I average around 1600 - 1800 on single targets and 2400 - 2800 on multiple mobs. Thats in a less than optimal groups no bards/no Illy. I use two diff casting orders one for single target and another for multiple targets. Single tgts - DI, GB, Nethrealm, Aura, Dist, Arma, VC is my basic pattern which i change based on difficultyof the Mob, with easier mobs I start with Neth first most of the time. I never cast Dissolve, Acid, Flames or the beast unless nothing is up. they are often a waste of time and do little damage for the cast time. For multi mobs i include Upheavel and Cat, in place of the Dist and VC. The above is not meant to be a guide but a starting point.

<p>Also make sure you have all the equipment for her that she can get easily. Here is a list for Illusionists, but much of the same equipment could be used. Note that there are a lot of pieces you can buy on broker or quest for. I don't think Fire Emerald Orbs are on that list, but I like 'em. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p><a href="http://www.eq2flames.com/illusionists/17904-gear-level-80-rok.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.eq2flames.com/illusionis...vel-80-rok.html</a></p>
