I was heavily into raiding in T7 but took a break in October last year. I've come back to be told that I must parse 3k zw on a raid in OT spec :o is this possible ?

Ask them this grp and then yes. XD

SK, Troub, Dirge Inq, Fury, Coercer, Ilusionist

And a badass weapon.

I have parsed 2.2 K in freeport only guild and dieng a lot by intercede. So I think 3k will be doable but hard to achieve.

Having a Troub Dirge Coercer and Illy is more or less useless.... a lot of their spells don't stack within their archetype... My prefered group is Necro Fury Trouby Coercer Inq Wizzy.... I've parsed 2600 zw before... but that counts jousting nameds and several wiped on tough encounters... if just trash mobs i'm sure i parsed over 3k

Get in the mage group. Get a wizard, warlock, troub, fury, illu. Than as far as OT spec, to do 3k ZW you are going to have to be completely offensive. Now I am assuming that OT they mean ST, because on an encounter where you actually need to tank for the entire fight 3k is a lot to expect. But running a zone where most of the time you are dps'ing the mage group imo is the ideal set-up, and even without your group siphon hate it is extremely easy to stay number 2 on the hate list. I can't use my group siphon because I will pull the mob way too much.

It depends what they give you in your OT group. If they put you in a group that they would put a Warrior in, I doubt very much you could parse 3k ZW.

OT groups tend to have 1-2 healers (depends if the MT needs 3 in his/her group and the fury usually you don't get, as they're in the Mage group), a hate xfer like a swash/assassin (get Hemotoxin) and a dirge or coercer for raw hate buff. And whatever is left over. With a group setup like this it's hard for the SK to hit the high parses as it's really only server your mele side with little benifit to your spell damage.

Now put yourself in the Mage group you can do eeet! With the troub and arm from an illy you'll be spitting out the damage like mad. I've never parsed 3k ZW because when I'm in that group I pull agro and die. (and no if I wait a little bit it doesn't matter, I can die rez, go back into the fight and draw agro again). However on parses I do live I'll be 2nd to 5th place, but really put any class in there and they should be able to hit that too.

Troub + Illy > Troub + coercer btw, with those two in your group, and gear you'll be sitting at over 50% DA, put a slow weapon in your hands and your mele will be around 40% - 55% of your damage.

OT is ST so I'm going to be defensive, INt self buffed is sitting around the 500 mark at the moment STR is 650 -700 depending on equipmet STA is 580- 620

So far on Thuuga I managed just over 2k parse with mostly T7 fabled equipment group setup was Brig, coercer, Illi, Fury and Inq

I've changed diety from Rallos to Bert and that seems to help with group encounters but I've noticed that there are more single target encounters than in T7.

AA spec crusader 48821STR, 478INT, 44881STA

SK tree so far I have 132 AA's maxxed to Reaver and most of the hate gain just 1 point missing from slam and promise, I have siphon hate.

I need to get some kit upgrades so I'll be hitting the instances pretty hard

Thanks for the replies guys I'll let you know how it goes and keep the suggestions coming

Make sure that brig throws Thieves guild on you, we're one of the best classes to get it.

I hope you not fighting in deffensive... Loose lots of DPS that way and it's not really nessasary, Usually on the pull I'll be deffensive but after the debuffs land switch to offensive. Just invest in lots of avoidence.

Switch to Off as soon as poss but getting avoidance up to any decent level is proving a problem.

I'm a shadowknight and the OT for a guild that's cleared VP several times now. There isn't much in the way of gear I can acquire that'll up my dps more. I gotta be honest with you. Their request is pretty ludicrous especially for someone looking to get back into the raiding scene.

Your aa spec can pretty much be the same regardless of whether or not you're in an OT group. Unless we're in VP I run around in offensive stance with a 2 hander most of the time as the cleric/dirge/mystic line up in my group is sufficient to keep me up against the likes of just about anything, but its not a sk's ideal group for DPS. My very best zw ever was about 2800 in Executioner's. True, I probably could have eeked out more in a mage group but that isn't exactly the ideal position for an OT is it.

ZW dps is a poor gauge for the quality of an OT. Once you're back in the swing of things asking for 2000-2500 zw's is not unreasonable but 3k from an OT position is absurd. Additionally, DPS will plummet the moment you include certain named encounters where you have a role other then DPS'ing.
