View Full Version : Obelisk Ring Event?

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if the ring events within the 3rd floor of the Obelisk of Lost Souls still works? A friend and I were working on the Speak Like a Dragon quest, and for grins, we wanted to do the ring event. We are both in our 70s.

Does the ring event not work if it would be gray to you? We jumped to the bottom floor of those two rooms, and nothing happened. Couldn't find any way to start the event.

Has it been working for others?

Well, funny you should ask, as two days ago four of us went in there, level 46-51, and in both ring events the 'boss' was there, so the ring event started. In the first event all the mobs disappeared about 10 seconds into the 3rd fight. And that was it, the whole room was empty... nothing. In the second event we killed all the nightbloods - about 3rd mob - and the evileyes - mob above us - that were above watching just disappeared once we'd finished with the Nightbloods and that was it, nothing else happened. Both these mobs weren't linked but spawned at the same time. It was a shame as we had new players who were experiencing the Obelisk for the first time and they were very disappointed. I think some looking into this - developers - needs to be done. I might go back and have another go again soon just to see if we can get through it.

I was there for the first time last week in a group of four also lvl 46-51 on Venekor. I haven't seen the ring event but both rooms were empty and nothing started even though we ran on everything we could within the zone.

went there a couple weeks ago, one event did not work the other did, and i went there about 2 months ago and neither worked so i dont know what to tell you other then something is probably being buggy, or just bad timing
Thank you for the replies. I was concerned it was my level, but since others have had a similar problem, I'm guessing it may be something else. I'll have to try again someday.

If the Fog is up in the center top of the room, then the ring event is up. If you don't kill everything fast enough it despawns.

It think it should be changed to be determined on whether or not you kill them, not how fast you do it. But, in any event, i'll check this out and see. This scenario afterall is much better than it begin bugged thanks for the info Buttcliffe.

No problem, i totally agree with you on the timer thing too. Sony brought the despawning back with Sebilis named and it upset everyone... hopefully they'll change this when they fix Seb

Though i was talking to a guild member today and they said it's not so bad as it stops other groups coming in and finishing off the event if you die half-way through it. So with respect to that i can understand why the timers there. But OOLS is so quiet most of the time i've found i think this would hardly ever happen. Oh, we went back to try again the other day but both weren't up :/. We'll try again, again .

The ring events aren't always up. When they are up, I find I generally need to climb to the top the room's center to start the event.
