Anyone had this problem with speaking to Ahkarem of the Desert to start the fate and destiny quest? Basically, I've completed each court series including the final instance - got the medallions in my inventory, done all these things that wikia lists: * Must have completed the quests: o Court of the Blades: Dukarem's Purge, Part III o Court of Truth: Confrontation o Court of the Coin: Imminent Danger o The Name of My Forefathers o Lady Naga (Necessary for Qadira to respond) o Shimmering Citadel : Poets Palace : The First Mirror o Delving into Darkness * Must have items: o Dukarem's piece of a broken medallion o Neriph's piece of a broken medallion o Ishara's piece of a broken medallion * Speak to Akharem of the Desert o Go north from Giant's Field carpet ( 1425, -99, -535 ) in the Pillars of Flame. ...did the access quest for shimmering citadel and first mirror just in case they were needed prior to speaking to Ahkarem. However, Ahkaram tells me nicely "You hurt my people and then think you can come speak to me so casually?! Begone!" and hence won't give me the Fate and Destiny quest.Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or something that I may have missed?I do want to even out faction (coins is bad at the moment - very much scowling) but thought I would do that prior to the final step of the Fate and Destiny quest.Do I need to even out faction first?Any help would be most welcome

Something is definitely odd. The usual text says something to the effect of "I am waiting for someone..." yadda yadda yaddaThat is the usual text when he wont give you the text anyway. Sounds like you are missing something but what I dont know given the list of things you said you finished and have on you.

I didn't think faction was a requirement to fix up first to even out but I may have to try that. Was just worried that I may go to the trouble of evening it out and he still says the same thing - can't hurt to try though I guess! Thanks for the reference to his other text - helps

You definitely do NOT have to even out the faction first. I'm near the end (ready for the epic kills in Cliffs, as soon as I can find some people to drag along) and I didn't balance out my faction until this stage. The only thing I have above and beyond that list is having advanced quite a bit further on the Peacock line (Undead Censership is done), not sure what else might be wrong.

Here's a link to my Fluffy list, maybe compare that with your completed quests in places like Maj'Dul and Shimmering Citadel to see if there are any that jump out at you as possibly being related?I notice it lists Delving into Darkness-do you have the Splitpaw gate shard done? Trying to think of things that I have that you might not that could possibly be related (then again, I dunno how DintoD could be related to this quest line other than they both involve gnolls at some point, so, there's that).

I've just looked down the majdul quests and although it's not listed as a pre-req, Consequences is related to the Name of my forefathers and I've not done that one so I'll try out of curiosity. Many of the quests on your list of 76 (i've done 40 in Majdul) seem to be court series ones or just solo ones but that one seems intriguing even if not obviously related.I'll compare the shimmering citadel ones too and see how I go there.Regarding the splitpaw shard - yup, thats done even though as you say it shouldn't be related you'd think.

Your faction with "Maj'Dul citizens" is too low, you've hurt too many of his people. Look for ways to get better than Indifferent with that faction.

Thank you Jindrack and Eriol.

To my shame, I must admit to killing a lot of civilians in Majdul when farming the coin tokens as that meant my faction with the courts didn't go down so quickly and that they gave tokens of each type randomly - but of course Majdul citizens did go down too.

They positively hate me - so indeed, I best get to slaughtering orcs in clefts tonight when off work.

/sulk. Totally unrelated to the OP, but I did ring of fate and didn't think about leveling faction before doing last step and over time (helping alts get tokens and such), my courts faction is all wonky. I have one in the high 30's, one in low 20's and one mid to high 20's. No biggie right, but with the addition of appearance slots, I'd love to go up there and have the option to buy some which requires 40K. I fear by the time I get done, things will be in such a sorry state. I am da HERO of MajDul, I should be loved my all

Definitely appreciate a dev helping answer the question - reason it had totally eluded me is that although I may be level 66 on my main, I craft and use all 10 of my main chars being on station. Having done the main courts quite a long time ago and being on those different alts, I'd totally forgotten the fact that I'd run up bad faction /embarrassed

Some basic faction balancing math, since I went through this recently:

I assume a starting position of 2 faction max kos and 1 ally. If you aren't here then adjust accordingly or get here:

Blades -50k

Truth -50k

Coin +50k

I'm going to specify factions, to make the example clearer, but obviously you use which ever factions you have.

Give 160+ Coin or Blades tokens to the Truth guy, which will raise Truth by 40k to -10k and reduce Coin by 40k to 10k. You might want to add 1 or 2 more tokens just to make it -9.5 as a buffer. Blades will remain at -50k.

Then give 80 or 81 Truth or coin tokens to the Blades guy. This will raise Blades by 20k to -30k, reduce Truth to -30k and reduce Coin to -10k. The key here is give the first faction to be raised at least twice as much as the second, since raising the second will reduce the first.

When you complete the quest you will get +80k to each, so as long as you are at or above -30k for all of them you will end up max ally for all of them.

To get the tokens either buy them off the broker or kill 240ish guards (not citizens) of the already kos factions. You can also do the Tears quests.

Might want to check it for yourself but I recently finished CoF on another toon and faction was only affected when the tokens were actually turned in.

We need a pennace altar. We're very very sorry we didn't do the math in advance, and we really really wanna make nice to the courts. Here's a puppy, a kitty and a Moppet, can you please fix my faction

I shall have to check this out when evening out faction. Bad faction off just killing guards was one reason I took to killing citizens instead.

As regards "Of Fate and Destiny", progress ensues for me in trying to get this quest started. At "Indifferent" faction now having previously been "Dubious" so at least on an even keel. A few more orcs being slaughtered tonight should get me that quest methinks.
