I am curious about this item, it has decent stats and a nice proc, even after the nerf.however, I been today in a raid, and it procced a total of 40 times, and that in about 3+ hours duration of raid. It also got resisted 10 times. so only 30 hits, in a duration of 200 minutes... Also this raid was MMIS, I cant believe a level 80 item can be resisted 1/4 of the time against green mobs <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" />. Of course we had some breaks etc, but still there sure was much-much-much more fights than... 20 minutes which would be about ok for the number of procs. It says its supposed to proc 2.3 times per minute, thats with Propagation on... so that would be 460 procs in 200 mins, or lets say half due to breaks (which is really math for the item) so 100 mins -> 230 procs... not even close! <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> anyone else noticed something like that? Thanks for your input <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />" />

Your actual battle time must have been far less than 200 minutes. Look at the zone-wide parse. Battle time should be not much over an hour in total, regardless of how much time you were in the zone. ACT will only calculate based on actual time when you draw and sheath weapons. The proc-per-minute is just a simplification they made in the wording. It's not based on time. It's still percentage based which means its processed vs. each individual mob vs. successful hit or spell cast, on a percent-to-hit. That doesn't necessarily mean it's going to proc like it says. It's one of the common misconceptions in statistics, as a whole.

Compare it to an item with a similar proc rate, you might find that it is comparable.

Personally, I think the Jiniskian Staff (or something of the sort) is better, provided you're not already capping out your spell damage. It has 8 less int, I think, but it has 145 spell damage instead of the proc. It's unarguably better for soloing, too, if you ever go out killing named, because procs = more chances to break root. It's not too hard to acquire, as it comes from the Jinisk faction in KJ. You'll have to kill quite a few sarnaks to the north of Jinisk, though, because the Jinisk faction quests only take you so far. I had to kill 80 or so once I was done with the quests, but it didn't take very long. I think I got them down in 30 minutes or so... it certainly didn't seem very long.
