I just got through talking to Amares with two characters both at the same point on the quest. He tells me to find information on where to obtain a relic or weapon suitable for ghoul hunting. That's ghoul bane. Neither of my toons have done that quest, nor even collected it. So, I'm supposed to get this alternative quest. Either I talk to Havras Scutter or Gogas Afadin, I'm not sure which. But it doesnt really matter because neither will help me. Gogas wont talk to either toon. Havras only wants to give me the Blackwater Mask quest. I do not have nor have I completed any quests for Gogas. I dont know what to do. The below is supposed the procedure, but neither will work.This is what o'gaming says...Return to Amares D'Venhz. He sends you to find information about a relic or weapon suitable for ghoul hunting. Talk to Havras "Hack" Scutter in the Village of Sonborn in Loping Plains (-310, 11, -49). He tells you to create a weapon suitable for slaying a powerful undead ghoul lord. This will launch the Ghoulbane Empowered subquest. You will need to talk to the person in Freeport or Qeynos that the Ghoulbane HQ mainly dealt with. NOTE: If you have not done the original Restoring Ghoulbane quest before you return to Amares, you will receive the Capillarian Diadem quest instead of the Empowered Ghoulbane.This is what eq2wiki says...<li>Return to <a href="http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Amares_D'Venhz" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Amares D'Venhz</a>. This has been broken for somtime for me also tried everything deleting quests doing goulbane ,ect. Sent a bug and petition the GM said nown issue and is being worked on <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I'll wait another six months or never to finish this one.

But i PvE and i shouldn't have to deal with it. Ya i bought one off the broker, to bad i didnt read the rest, now i need 11 more. or maybe a Dev will fix this someday for us. you would think that a heritage quest would get fixed.

However, the change didn't work quite right for people who already have the quest in their journal. It says one in the text but the counter still requires 12. Unfortunately the only solution the devs ever gave was to delete the quest and reacquire it. Doing that will cost you the transmuted item, but you will only need one to advance that step this time. Personally I'd petition about the problem first. With any luck they will reimburse you for the wasted capillary. "

I have wasted so much RL time chasing around absurdities like this bug. I thought about bugging this one too, but I just threw up my hands instead. Ive had enough of this <a href="mailto:dumb@ss" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">dumb@ss</a> time sink game. I feel like such a [Removed for Content] for taking this long to come to that realization.

I guess your problem is there : "Havras only wants to give me the Blackwater Mask quest." NPCs often bug when they are involved in differant questlines. Either completing or deleting the Mask quest should fix your problem.
