Recently I've been having trouble against 80 berserkers, while they were not that hard to deal with in tier 7.When their cooldowns are up they can litterally 2 or 3 shot my lil swash.Like against most melee classes I try to kite them with reach, and it works just fine until I run out of snares/knockbacks/detaunts/stuns.If they wear good gear they are usually still alive, then they manage to get closer and I'm toast.I would like to know if other swashies made similar experiences, gather hints and strats suggestions...So far I've been thinking about the following possibilities:- Run away if they pop their bufs, come back later. Obvious, but did I mention I don't like running from the ennemy ?- Use fettering poison instead of stun (my general purpose poison in pvp), to maximize chances to keep them at range.- Mez and debuff with pumice stone. Tbh I never tried and don't have a clue if pumice stone removes their temporary bufs.Any comments/suggestions welcome.

Would stun poison still work in pvp if you cheap shot them? I was thinking it doesn't stack, but I could be wrong.

i havent messed with my zerker much since ROK, but i know in duels my zerker starts off strong and peters out after his temp buffs are off. have you considered staying defensive stance and playing the run game for the duration of the zerks temp buffs? i know running sucks, but...

one thing that might help...have you done the D'morte line? scouts can buy a charm type item, its activatable like a totem and buffs your defense for a short burst. it is lore and only has 5 charges, but going to nek and picking one up before heading out to pvp might help. you can pop the totem before/during the fight.

Thank you for your feedback.@Stabbath: as far as I know under the current pvp ruleset stun poisons and cheap shot should both give immunity for a while after the ennemy get affected. So strictly speaking they don't stack. That being said in a whole fight the ennemy will not be stun immune for a major portion of time, leaving plenty of time to land cheap shot @Ruen: yes I thought about the running option, but would prefer to really shut them down, if it's feasible I did not know about the D'morte item but surely will have a look at it, looks like a "nice to have" clicky - Nektulos brings me more than a year in the past, good old times...

Get away from the swash forum you nasty freep :p !!Yes I did better the last time (one fight I lost very stupidly and one I won), but I have to be very careful.Well maybe it's just the way it should be and lazy days are over Your class really got a nice DPS boost in T8, and while it is very welcome to finally see some love for guardians, zerkers did not really need it (that much). The problem is also that except rogues, predators, and sorcerers, there are not that many solo pvpers on veny playing other classes, so it is quite difficult to learn how to fight those. The only zerkers I see sometimes on the battlefield are Doubleblade, Pikk (never solo) and Darkhain.Would like to duel Zwoehnix too but the arena in its current state is a joke so...Well I'm derailing my thread now

T8 Beserkers are a pain in the [Removed for Content]. Well geared they have a ton of mitigation, health, and a chance to pop back up after you kill them initially. With RoK weapons they hit hard as a train. Usually out on the field I don't have a problem with them. When you try to duel one they can use all their temporaries and 'pwn u'. So that's why I don't duel and fight out on the field, if I wanted to duel I would play on a PvE server.

I agree if you jump them and they did not see you coming usually it's an easy kill, like nearly any other class actually. Regarding the duelling thing it's a matter of taste, but I personnally like when my opponent knows I am coming and is ready for fight, because it usually gives a more challenging fight, more interesting too as a consequence. Duel style and wild pvp are more complementary than exclusive IMHO. As far as I am concerned I learnt much more on strats and ennemy classes while duelling than in the wild. In wild pvp the outcome of a fight is often more determined by the odds of the encounter, than by actual skill (my definition of skill being knowing your class and using it efficiently depending on your ennemy's class). That being said some consider that skill in eq2pvp means fighting at the right place at the right time, so there is not one definition only

As I've just betrayed to Guardian on a PVP server, I'll give a few tips. I play Qeynos side on Nagafen so dealt more with Brigs than Swashies.

Watch our buff bars. Adrenaline is very easy to spot, it's a big fat brown/orange icon. If that goes up, the bad news is anything you do to the berserker is going to do half the damage, effectively you're fighting a tank with about 20,000+ hitpoints. The good news is you can wait it out, and the berserker's going to get a HUGE powertap. You see that, snare and get out of range. You should be using mental breach. Keep ranged attack on and keep them snared chasing you. You should also be using fettering poisons which is a huge help.

Two others to watch out for, Destruction - if a zerk has this up, don't even go near them. Again, snare and kite them around till it wears off. And juggernaut is going to give a 20% boost to all the zerker's CA damage and 27% to their crit chances (most 80 zerkers already sit between 30 and 50%).

Once these buffs are down, honestly the fight should lean more your way... It's just a case of knowing your enemy. Don't be afraid to push sprint for a few seconds to get some distance. A berserker by definition is an enraged warrior who is lethal to anyone in his/her reach. Very very few classes could stand toe to toe with my zerk and survive when everything was up, but those that knew to move away and wait me out usually came off better....

Thank you, this confirms my assumptions, all what's left now is to turn theory in practice
