OK. Im pretty much geared up in T7 Fabled (not fascination stuff- relic stuff mainly). Whats the opinion of gearing up in T8 Melodic mastercrafted gear? The Mit isnt as high as the T7 gear, the stats look more or less the same - not enough STA, but that can be offset with adornments/jewelry if necessary. The extra CA and Spell damage looks quite tasty, do all the items extra damage stack? Im at work atm, but i seem to recall +45 spell damage on each item. So if I have full melodic gear on is that 7 x 45 = 315 extra spell damage on each cast? I have had a month off so im only lvl 77 atm, so only just starting on the instances and raid zones in T8. Is it worth gearing up in the mastercrafted?

My profile is here. Ignore the jewelry - i choose that depending on situation, but the armour generally stays the same no matter what im doing.

http://eq2players.station.sony.com/...terId=371594303

I had a full set of class Legendary from EoF (Vhalen's) and switched out to full Melodic. My DPS went up by 200 to 300 on when soloing. Don't know what the difference would be for Fabled. I think they went a bit overboard when they jacked up the stats on the mastercrafted, but I guess I'm in the minority. The fact that anyone has to even wonder if they should switch out their Fabled raid gear for mastercrafted just blows my mind. I think it's ridiculous that switching from my legendary to mastercrafted resulted in a 200 to 300 DPS increase...but whatever. If Sony wants to throw every item they've ever put in the game prior to the latest expansion onto the garbage heap and replace it with gear that's easily purchased off the broker, I guess that's their business.

Isn't T7 61-70 and T8 71-80?

Sorry for the switch is personas. Just realized it was wrong after the last post.

i would say t8 melodic > T7 Relic, however for fascination set armor that is a tough call. my troub still wears BP, boots and gloves from fascination, however i have not thoroughly inspected the t8 melodic either.

Melodic armor is awesome. After equipping the gear, I was able to solo much better and did a lot more damage in groups. I equipped the set as soon it was changed (low-mid 70s) and have since only replaced the legs (quest in Karnor's gave more +CA/+SD). I spent money on a few other pieces of spell damage equipment and it was almost night and day when looking at my solo capacity. While I did not have all fabled T7, I did upgrade from all legendary and some fabled and noticed a massive difference even though I lost mitigation.

Currently, melodic is the only non-fabled armor that truly helps Troubadors. Unless you have T8 fabled, all should get melodic.

Since my armorer is level 80, and my troubie is 71, I guess I should take him out and gt him a level.

Ok, I have had the full melodic on for a while, and have definitely noticed a difference in the solo fights. Mobs drop a lot quicker, although the damage they do is higher. A trade off of DPS for mitigation. Maybe the devs planned that after all the complaints at how bad troubies were (something I dont agree with). Anyway, without studying the parses, I am happy with the the Melodic T8 gear over the (mostly) fabled T7 gear.

I beilieve 100% that melodic armour was made to give troubadors the dps boost they needed to balance the class vs. others...stealth. in T7 we were kinda hurting in areas and many complained about the class. Now in T8 who is complaining, and who wears melodic. I think Sony did a briliant job of fixing our dps without messing with other areas of the game mechanics or buffs. T8 fabled is an upgrade as is some legendary t8...nothing t7 is because we were a broken class in t7. Move forward and be happy.

Toubadors made out large with this gift. un-nerf.

Moose

Good info in here.

I wouldn't have thought to swap out T7 Fabled to T8 Mastercrafted, but then again my other character is a Guardian and Mit is a big factor for me.
