<p>Yeah could we maybe get an official response on what the point / purpose / goal of mana drain effects on spells and items is intended to be?  I'm failing to see The_Vision(tm) here.  </p><p>Maybe we could hope one day in the distant future, 4 or 5 years from now when there are 4 servers left because people have all moved on to other games, when we can see a patch message that says:</p><p>"Mana draining effects have been removed from all spells and items.  Coercers have had their spell damage increased to compensate for the loss.  We apologize for the inconvenience."</p>

Hopefully they forgot to add in adding heal crit to the Thuuga ring for healers, and adding the reward that the dev promised over a month ago for the Veeshan's Feast quest.

Yeah no kidding, whats the point of Mana Draining spells anyways.. just a false sense of accomplishment?*OH YAY I DRAINED ALL THIS MOBS POWER HE CANT DO ANYTHING NOW!*YOU ARE HIT by ARCANE STORM FOR 8k MAGIC DAMAGE!* ...dammit soe.And what about PuppetMaster SOE?  I like the idea of the spell, dont get me wrong but for one its useless on raids because some mobs still heal when it kills anything or mobs get an effect put on them when they kill something so that spell is rendered pointless, and the damage is next to nothing anyways.  Its useless really for a raider, maybe you could consider tossing a EPIC clause into that spell, for example increased damage when used on a EPIC MOB... or something.I like some of the changes but then again, some changes really just make you ask WHY are you thinking such things.... which you never get a reply to why really.... so, you make the entry mob harder in a zone and the last mob easier...?

Can this update go live....  like, NOW?  So many cool features! One note, though:<ul><li><span class="postbody">Seared Bandolier and Buz'zard's Shortbow should no longer move to your overflow after zoning.</span></li></ul>This also affects Arrell's Bow of Alacrity.  I know it's no longer attainable but my Ranger is still only level 24 and is using it.I've /bugged it but we all know how those sometimes get missed.Powers  &8^]

<cite>feldon30 wrote:</cite><blockquote>In case anyone didn't figure it out, yesterday's update is NOT GU42.</blockquote>How do we know that? Looks like GU42 to me, just sans Epics. I assumed Epics would be going live without hitting Test first to avoid giving anyone an edge and having half of the walkthroughs published on eq2wikia before they're live. Wish I had a Carpenter on Test though. For some reason I'm insanely curious what those recipes at 60 and 62 are. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

You know MC sucks [Removed for Content] the way it is for a PUG.  This just makes me want to go in there even less with a PUG between this mob now and Drusella...

<cite>feldon30 wrote:</cite><blockquote>This is GU42? Lordy...</blockquote>It may only be part 1 of GU#42 and, as someone else pointed out, there may be somethings left off of Test (i.e. the epic quests) in order that everyone start with them with the exact same level of knowledge when they hit Live.

At the current state the mob can't use any of his abilities at 0 mana. With the upcoming change he will be able to port despite the power drain but still not casting his massive AoE. Great news on conj pet perstantcy... What about fixing out pets? Problem: Air Pet (Scout) at T8 is a Monk (Fighter) which does crushing damage, yet the AA's only help with slashing and piercing. Resolution: you got 2 options - change the guy to use leaf blades at app1-adetp3 and samuri sword at M1 or add crushing to the AA line for Air Pets... Fire Pet (mage) Problem(s): 1.probem: forgets to cast, even if directly under the mob have to resummon to fix. solution: fix your logic of LoS or something... 2. Stomp sounds ruin game play, you guys spent all this time to develop this lovly combat music which i would listen to but cant because i turn off sound when im on my conj to avoid that annoying noise it makes. soluiton: remove the walking noise from the pet. (add in casting sounds again) 3. Look & Design of pet, (really really really sucks) - why didnt get an elemental drake or spirit of some sort hell ball of lava the wizards have fits more in line with casting over this cheep knock off from t7. solution: change the value of the npc summoned to something more casterish and add the fire skin to it. (or just make it to where we can summon a fire elemental spirit of what ever we target from lvl 50+)
