Hello all-

I was thinking of how much I enjoy collection quests and how maybe the concept could be improved upon. This is all suggestive stuff and meant to share ideas. I was thinking each Game Update, which happen about once a month, could add something to do with collection quests. I had four different ideas bouncing around in my head, here they are-

1. Additional "expert" type collection quests.. for example, each of the blue shiny quests in EOF and ROK could have one that also goes towards a "master" collection, similiar to the existing expert ones, but it would be like King Chess Piece, Pristine Skull, Noose, etc and the reward would be another pair of goggles that let you see red shinies (or green or purple or whatever) that give another quest per zone and they could give out Legendary rewards or cool "flavor" spells or house items.

2. Rotate the burynai pet - only collections. Right now I think there are 8 collections only available from the house pets (regal butterflies, vultak claws etc). When ROK first came out, there was another 15+ like nayad scales, scarabs, etc that many of us have unfinished in our quest journal and another 20 quests that weren't really quests (e.g. the naga teeth and harpy teeth) but these were taken out of the game quickly. How about every Game Update these are rotated.. like the next GU terracotta chips (which don't have a reward btw) and other quests no longer are available from the burynais but nayad scales and the solifugids are, and then the next GU those go out and moon and sun gems go in, and so on. They could add new burynai only quests too, like regal moths and gorowyn coins. They could always go back to ones that were phased out before too, like make terracotta chips only available 2 months of the year each year, and could add seasonal collections to the mix for Frostfell and Brew Day etc. This would cause a rush to the pets similiar to a rush to buy packs when new loot cards are introduced to LON, and would let us finish some of these quests. They could also rotate which collection quest items the burynai pets give out, and throw some tome pages into the mix as well. I think right now, I am getting just about every white and blue shiny quest and the burynai only ones except for cobra scales for some reason.. the list could be scaled down a little and rotated each month.

3. Crafted collectibles- how about each tradeskill get to make some sort of collectible item that results in a reward that either benefits the tradeskill or has a cool furniture item. For example, tailors could make plushies which you could collect to get a plushie display case for your house with the plushies in it, or quilt pieces that when turned in give you a cool quilt to put on your wall. There could be a set for each tradeskill at 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80. Woodworkers could have wood carvings or ornaments, smiths could make collectible spoons or something, provisioners could make candies or chocolate snow bunnies or something. Other rewards could include recipes, tradeskill mods, etc.

4. Harvest items- I got this idea while reading about fishing in general discussion. How about the burynai pets give out no-trade harvesting tools that go in charm slot (fishing pole, pick axe, saw, etc) that when equipped and you are harvesting a node you have a chance to get a collection item. The tools could come from recipes rewarded from crafted collectibles, or be the rewards themselves. Each node would have a tool and there could be a collection for each type of node for each tier. For example, while harvesting a piece of timber with the special saw equipped, you could get interesting items like bark, knots, pine cones, or beetles, and while fishing you could get things like shells, lures, boots, or rare fish scales. The rewards could be harvesting mods, house items (like display cases with your collection inside that mounts on wall), recipes, or badges.

What do you guys think?
