View Full Version : Kunark, how am I doing?

I hear that Kunark mobs are harder than previous ones. So far this seems true. However, I was wondering if other people out there are having a hard time soloing two blue mobs at once in Kunark? I die about half the time I try. Maybe more. Solo questing at 75 has become rather humiliating.

I have no problems doing two of anything up to yellow normals. I can plow through any ^ heroic up to red solo. I had a good many problems from 69-71 when I was in Kunark. But it wasn't any more problems than I had going from 60-61 or 50-51 those first two levels in a tier always suck. I remember back at 70 I was having a hard time killing just about everything in kylong and even con fights could sometimes go bad and I'd die. I'd say check your gear. There is no reason not to have a whole set of mastercrafted gear at 72 since hard metal is dirt cheap on the broker. I think I picked up my ten clusters for around 2.5p total.

Well, it depends also on what your arts are (I honestly couldn't imagine that zone and low 70s with anything less than Adept III), what order/manner you are using them and what AA spec you have. Each piece definately came into play a lot more as 70s loomed. I've resorted on the higher cons to trying to stun-lock them as much as I can with the arts Swashies get (Plunder to start from stealth, a coulpe of arts, then Heroic Oportunity chained with stun, one art then Swathe for knockdown, beat em up a bit, then finish off with Walk the Plank to turn em around and either positional attacks, or try to pop into stealth again and plunder and then positionals if they are back up.) I'm not going to lie, I get my share of a beating even from some blue cons. I persaonlly would keep in defensive stance and keep poisons up at all times. AS to being able to take such high cons, I can say for myself that my gear is not all that hot, but definately all mastercrafted as a baseline.

I have a lot of adept 1s, so that's probably it. Thanks for your help.

There has to be something different between us then. I chain kill even/yellows sometimes two at a time and I never have to stop. I hardly even use my stun when soloing, if I do its because walk the plank is down and I want to use some back attacks and not to mitigate damage. Are you using poisons? When I solo I always use a mastercrafted vit breech as well as, an attack speed, and a defense stat reducing poison. Here is my profile none if my gear is that special: http://eq2players.station.sony.com/...terId=480881201(I do notice my stats are a little off there I think it takes buffs out of the equation or something. When normally soloing i have just over 700 str, and 650 agi.)Also I only have at most four adept 3s on the hot bars right now and no master 1s.My AA spec is Str 4458, Agi 48462, Sta 44862 (even though I have the stam tree I still DW and don't use a roundshield)

well, i would go with 1 hand or STA line if i was going to solo alot...even if you go DW you should get weapons with identical delays for best performance.

some of your jewelery needs replaced. other than basic gear, i would make sure to try to use no stance or defensive stance when taking on multiples, offensive stance and the mobs in ROK hit too hard to kill them before they kill you (in my experience).

thats just what worked best for me (solo'd in ROK at various times, and found i could kill most effectively with WIS or STA lines). might not be best for you.

I use STR and AGI lines with maxed out walk the plank and it works great. Many mobs die before they even get one shot at me since with cheap shot and walk the plank I can keep the mob away from me the entire fight. If I get more that one mob I usually use inspiration, en garde, etc and burn em down quick, and if that doesnt work you can always kite a bit until your CA's are up again if you only managed to kill the one of the mobs.Btw, I'm always in offensive stance because I get quite bad hit rates on yellow and orange cons.

I respected 4x when got to Runark, since it seems everything (including personal effort) was more required in Kunark more so than before. Three iportant things:1. Best gear you can afford (like the lvl 72 Mastercrafted line)2. Adept 3s when can afford them (money gets better about lvl 74+ in Kunark)3. Pay close attention to AA speccing (read your butt off on the subject)4 Make sure have the coolest Add-Ons (EQ2 Interface, POI Finder, etc). A lot of great stuff in Kunark
