could you guys list all the differences between coercer and inquisitor and what their playstyles are like overall and in later levels. basically what are there strengths and weaknesses and which fares better solo and in group and how exactly they have to perform solo and in group. ive tried every single class in the fae trial and these 2 are what im stuck deciding between. also, which of these 2 is the most uncommon class but most desired in grouping and raiding? also, what is the best race combo for them

I've played Inquisitor to 70, but Coercer only to 58, so I'll leave Coercer talk to someone who actually knows what they're talking about at high end levels.

Inquisitor in plate with naturally high resists (Wis being a key stat) can soak up damage very well, and with reactive healing can be very tough to take down. The entire class is based on the principle of 'hit me, and you're going to pay for it'. They have reactive heals, reactive damage and reactive power boosts (at 45 or so). However, its bit of a grind in the early levels, having no worthwhile damage spells until mid-20's, and those you do have are prone to interrupts. A lot. This is improved by a clear winner in their AA line 'Battle Cleric', which basically converts damage spells to CA's, and reduces the power cost, the main upshot being fast-casting and uninterruptible - and they upgrade with you as you level so no need to buy replacement Masters. Add in another AA line, which grants 100% crits and suddenly you've got a powerhouse in plate armour, that can heal. Where it lacks, notably on a pvp server is no run-speed buff, no snare, ranged stun, or any way of stopping runners, or escaping yourself. If you can't go toe-to-toe with an opponent, you'll struggle. If he chooses to run - you've got trouble chasing him down. The high mit, high resists, and melee attacks mean you're designed to get up close and personal.

In a raid situation on PvE you're likely to be in the dps group for your dps buffs and haste, whereas a Templar is typically preferred in the MT group. On a PvP server, the MT group is obviously up for grabs. Raiding however, as an Inq, I found particularly boring. Heals are lowest in priority behind the Defiler wards and Warden/Fury HoTs, so many of your reactives go to waste. And since nobody is keen on healers mixing it up with epic mobs, you're standing at maximum distance to do your thing. Not great for someone in full plate, fat resists and a big stick.

General grouping though, you're loved like any healer is. It takes special attention though to heal bruisers/monks with their much lower mitigation. When they eventually get hit, they get hit HARD, and the reactive tick won't be enough to replenish the damage.

Personally I'm a big fan of the Inquisitor, one of the most well-rounded, and balanced classes out there.

The classes have nothing in common. It's like asking if we like apple or oranges better. Try both and stick with what you like best.
