Paraelles directx error

I recently bought Parallels with the reassurance that it would run games on my macbook pro, well thats not happening I need help I've tried everything and I am out of options. I read that P3 was going to have directx 9.0 support. Whats going on here?

More detail. I am yet to even take one step in the game. It crashes right after I hit play and says directx error. I've read into the nature of the problem and I am still stuck on page one. Now my account is wasting away, 17 hours of work over 2 days has left me exhausted and stressed out. HELP!!!

You might be better off trying to run such a CPU/memory intensive game like EQ2 using bootcamp, rather than trying to run 2 OS's at the same time and failing. Your overhead using Parallels must be massive, and performance can only suffer because of it. Dual boot is a better choice, unless you absolutely have to be able to run OSX at the same time.

Parallels does not contain a full Direct3D 9 Implementation and as such will be unable to run Everquest 2.  There is no real way around this other than to wait for the Direct3D code in Parallels to be updated.  In the meantime, the only way to play EQ2 will be to use Bootcamp.
