Okay, so I took pretty much all of EoF off. I recently came back and have leveled to 80. I am in a raid guild now and find that my DPS is not where it was, nor should be for our class. Would anyone care to share their spellweave? What is your dmg crit %? Mine is at 28. Before I left it was all about procs to attain more dps. I was at 1-2 in the DPS chart at will. Now I am somewhere in the 4-6 range. Thoughts?

<p>I am by no means uber by any stretch of the imagination but I might be able to help a little.</p><p>Spell crits/proc items are still very good to have but with ROK we also have access to a lot of +spell damage. This loads up an amount onto the front end of our dots etc and can increase your dps significantly.</p><p>To help answer any more specific dps questions we need to know what your aa spec is/ quality and type of pet you normally raid with etc. Also it helps to know what sort of dps your raid generally pushes as its hard to fly high dps wide if you are constantly ganking aggro.</p><p>A bit more info and I'm sure some of the pros can help.</p><p>Sark.</p>

a pure raid spec should have bloodpact, lifeburn, and grave calling with a little room to manuver some extra points. ur summoner tree should have str, int and wis unless you get stuck in the melee or OT group for some reason in which case you might wanna spec agi instead of INT. As for gearing out, i recommend setting spell damage and crits as high priority though these days they just sort fall into your lap without you even having to look for specific pieces. Spell damage over 600 is kinda wasteful if you're sacrificing procs or crits to get there so a good rule of thumb is to stack damage to 600 first, then see how high you can get your crit will staying fairly close to that 600 damage modifier. And then of course see if you cant sneak in some procs. Threat decreasers...ehh...not for me. I have no trouble with agro even when im doing close to top dps zonewide. Power procs...again, not for me. If im REALLY having trouble with power, i switch from my ad3 demilich to my m1 archlich for the extra .2% power increase and theres always hearts, shards and manastones to help as well. All in all, you shouldn't need a power proc or flowing thought, though if you get one by accident, so much the better. Debuff procs...hard to say on these. If you are on a blue server or you're playing exile pvp then the mob is probably close to being maximumly debuffed already so you probably dont need a debuff proc. If you play freeport or qeynos faction on pvp server then you probably should wear a piece or two of debuffing gear. The real money though is still in the damage proc IMO. Shoot for something thats percentage based if you can find it...they're very rare. Otherwise shoot for 2 times per minute proc rate (though the highest you'll probably find is 1.8.) Dont stack a whole bunch of procs though because you'll inevitably end up lowering your crits and spell damage to a sub-par amount. Im by no means an expert on playing a necromancer, in fact i can think of 3 or 4 off the top of my head that would trounce me on a parse, but I will say that i can consistently parse top 10 in an exile raiding guild that usually has 2 each of brig, ranger, assassin, and swash (give or take one or of those). I almost always outparse the suposed "tier 1 dps" mages and frequently beat rangers like red headed step children. So take what i've said here as one mans "secret" to success and then make it work for you. Or not.
<p>I am finding in RoK that my mage pet is too squishy and gets AOE'd a lot. Unfortunately, if the MT goes down during the raid/group my pet is often #2 or #3 on the "hit parade". So, it gets nailed anyway, even with Blood Pact (which doesn't stop melee dmg). I respect'd to Assassin pet so I could get the insta-rez ability. I also, solo a lot between raids so I wanted Tainted Heals. Mage pets without Blood Pact die too often.</p><p>My configuration is STA, AGI, WIS, Gravecalling, Tainted Heals, Life Burn. Honestly, I am still experimenting with the right mix.</p><p>Quite a bit of your dps output will be based on who you are grouped with. If you don't have a troubador in your group your dps will be gimped. A plate healer with INT spec helps a lot, too. Also, all your spells should be adept III, minimum. Stack up on +dmg gear. That is very easy to do with quests in RoK. I have almost +850 in dmg gear (keep in mind that even dmg gear has a hard cap of max spell dmg +50%). So, on most of my spells the extra +dmg is wasted. But you should see my life taps!</p>

I love being able to focus on damage because I never have to worry about mana.
<p>I agree you havent posted enough info, so I'll go with what I got. </p><p>Quite a few people helped me on this same problem. Last raid we did I was 74 and I was parsing close to the 80s found my self on the top 6 just about every other fight. Literally doubling my DPS</p><p>Lifeburn everytime it is up. Get a bolster for lifeburn and make sure you are being healed the entire 10 seconds. Coordinate with your healers for this. Never stop casting when you LB. I do Lifetap and the PBAoE (if I can get away with that one) so I get some extra health back. At 74 was doing 60k LB with crap for gear. If you can get a Jesters cap for LB, you get to cast it every 2.5 minutes. HUGE DPS increase.</p><p>UDT when you can.</p><p>Start casting on pull! Dumbfires, dots. LOL dont DD or LB. If your tank gets [Removed for Content], tell him that <i>if</i> you get aggro <i>then</i> he can get [Removed for Content].</p><p>Never stop DPSing. You have the mana, use it. I mean mash as hard and as fast as you can. Don't debuff. Just DPS. Don't heal. Just DPS. Don't rez (If you can help it) it takes time from your DPSing. Come up with a spell order that suits you and MASH! </p><p>Jousting the PBAoE helps alot too, depending on the situation. I noticed (and I may catch crap for this) that if the mob has no AoE and I get Cloud (PBAoE) into my spell rotation you can get a hell of alot more DPS. Again, situational.</p><p>Make sure people know if they have 1/3 hearts left before a fight, then burn it and get a fresh one. Again it takes away from your DPS casting those. Raid heart FTW! Get people use to putting thier group number in the /tell heart request. You would not believe how much time is wasted when you have to search for someone.</p><p>Did I mention Never Stop DPSing?</p><p>Try to get a Troub in your group, even if it is boxed.</p><p>Those are the general rules. You will be amazed how much this will affect your DPS.</p>
