How, as a solo 23 ranger, can I break a multi-mob camp? I am facing the Tesch Val Fanatic and 3 friends. Is there any way to pull just 1 out of the group?

Also what is the use for Divert & Stalk? I see that they decrease threat but using those in sequence never gets me out of a fight.

If the mobs aren't linked (all in one group), your only real option to get just one is what's called "body pull". Tanks do it all the time. Essentially, you approach the group slowly, keeping just one mob closest to you. As you move into the mobs aggro range, he'll turn to start attacking you, but the other mobs will stay put, since you are still outside their aggro range. Back up away from the camp to a safe distance and start fighting the one mob. Rinse, repeat.I'm not familiar with the two spells you mention, but it sounds like they are the "deaggro" spells. Using them will decrease the hate a mob has for you, but never enough for him to give up the fight. They are primarily used in group situations. If both you and a guardian are attacking a mob, you are both building up hate (or aggro or threat). Since you are doing more damage than the guardian, you will likely get more hate... and the mob always attacks the person with the most hate. You can use these two spells to reduce your hate level with the mob, which will hopefully leave you with less hate than the guardian... and the mob will attack the guardian instead of you. The guardian (and all tank classes) have "taunt spells" which they use to increase their hate with the mob.

Since we rangers suck at groups at that level, your best bet is to burn down one, yell and run away. Let the enoucnter break and then come back and rinse and repeat.

An aspect of EQ1 i think is lacking in eq2, I used to love harmony and make that difficult pull.
