Hey guys, I am a returning 70 sk. I was highly considering dual boxxing in eq2. I put it off for a long time. I have been highly considering illusionists. Since there buffs go very nicely with a sk. But I am wondering If I should go with a Healer / Bard classes.I keep double thinking myself , since the new mobs in RoK hit so hard what do you think the best option is?Thanks guys and gals,Gank

I use a Defiler, maybe not the best but it works for me.

It seems you guys have picked your class based on your preference? Any reasoning behind it really? Strat wise for yourself? Im just trying to come up with reason to solidify my choice.

<p>for a SK duo.. Fury is amazing. And here are teh reasons why...</p><p>1. Group invis</p><p>2. Agitate line - Target Proc based melee buff (increased dps, melee haste and stats).</p><p>3. Portals (druid rings)</p><p>4. Spirit of the Wolf, Pact of Cheetah</p><p>5. Decent healer dps, and 2 nice AoE's (1 encounter based). Or 3? Mine is just 72 atm</p><p>6. Automatic Self ress AA</p><p>7. Heal over time spells.</p><p>8. Hibernation - A large delayed group heal.</p><p>9. Aspect of bat - Target power regen + agi boost +max power.</p><p>10. Lucid line - large max power +bunch of int.</p><p> Simply put.. Fury has alot that goes hand in hand with a SK.. we can ward ourselves and in compliment they can put up alot healing power over time, aswell as some burst healing and dmg. Plus, the fury is a leather user.. so wont compete with your SK when it comes to gear either. So... the fury brings alot that the SK dosent have.</p>

<p>I just recently started up an SK/Fury duo. I did some research first - I definitely wanted a healing class, so that I'd be able to take on tougher content. (I've previously duo'd a monk/mystic pair up to 70 pre-EOF.)</p><p>One thing that was pointed out to me was that a lot of what makes an SK an SK are abilities that REQUIRE that you get hit. Many of your skills, (as you certainly know better than I do since you're 70 and I've played an SK for all of about a week) are things that react upon you getting hit, both causing damage to your attacker and giving you health back. So, definitely don't go with a partner that specializes in keeping you from getting hit at all, ala wards. For my monk/mystic combo, the mystics wards were fantastic as monks definitely want to not get hit - but for an SK, a mystic would be terrible.</p><p>I'm finding a Fury works out very well. On easy/middle difficulty mobs, she doesn't even need to heal as the sk lifetaps keep up quite well. In those cases, the Fury is just DOTing and blasting the mob. But when fighting something tough, the heals and regrowth are so far doing a great job of keeping the SK alive.</p><p>Plus, you get some nice utility spells - ports, underwater breathing, eventually a group invis...</p><p>Anyway, just my thoughts. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>Furies get a damage shield aswell, targeted based of course. </p><p> EDIT:</p><p>And of course.. when your SK is just petting its navel and being LFG all day long and sitting and waiting for a raid invite that never will come.. your Fury will get group invites all the freaking time.. not to mention a fury is more or less always welcome on a raid :p It stinks in a way :p Thats when you decline all the invites and tell em "Sorry, already grouped with a really [Removed for Content] SK, bai bai!!"</p>

For what it's worth, all of the SK reactives still fire off even if a ward is on... you just get hit for 0, and that triggers the proc. I know this because I play an SK/Mystic duo, for no reason other than it was my preference to do so. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Seems like I do pretty well with it, although I feel somewhat travel challenged sometimes, with no ports or invis. At least the SK evac helps a bit.

I just started an SK/Mystic duo. I wanted a diverse healer, but I already have both druids! Not wanting to level up a third druid, I went with the option of making a bruiser playmate for my Warden and a Mystic for the SK, mostly to use wards to keep damage from coming in, debuffs they get, as well as being able to heal when needed. Also, having SoW and being able to put points into it to make it speedier always helps!A druid is always a fine way to go as well ; ) Pretty much just boils down to how you'd prefer to heal.

I actually winded up going / Sk / Illusionist. Theres alot of utility in the duo. Just Curious when both are 80 in RoK . How much plat in drops selling etc can you farm in a hour? You think? Are there any places profitable Like SoS? Of course depending on your luck with masters etc ornate chests randomly dropping. What has been your experiance?

<p>I 2box a fury as well and there's one added bonus that no one mentioned:</p><p>45-50% runspeed depending on race...saves $$$ and the hassle of using a mount for /follow</p><p>Gankstah, if you want to farm you should keep the illu at 76-78 for mentoring. You'll have alot more viable targets that way.</p>

I duo my SK with my fury, my inquisitor or even just my troub and lay down plenty of smack with any of the three. (Yeah yeah a troub isn't a healer but there is the heal/mana/dd songs, so you can really crank out some extra dps with boxing one.)

<p>I prefer the inquisitor for duo-ing with my SK. The Fuy while effective just couldn't keep up with even con heoric mobs while the inquisitor seems to be able to without trouble. Could just be the way my wife plays a fury, but that was my experience. So far the inquisitor has been hands down much more effective than the fury for our duo. Of course the loss of invis hurt badly, but I guess you got to give up something. ;}</p>
