We do a lot of damage debuffing which helps the tank do less damage, while at the same time doing some decent dps.

2) I can hold my own on parse with most classes, but there are still come classes that can beat us. A lot of dps is related to group make up and player skill/gear. With a dirge and illusionist/ coercer buffs, we are god like. People claim Wizards/Warlocks/Conj/Necro/Assassin/Ranger are the nukers, but swashy can certainly hold it's own.

3) I have never had any problem soloing with the swashy, he can more than hold his own and is a nice balance between defense and damage.

Most importantly, the swashbuckler is about being sexy. So you might have to give up a little dps, but ultimately the only toons on the server that will be as sexy is other swashbucklers.

Love the swashy....

1) Yes, swashbucklers offer the best array of offensive debuffs for mobs. No respectable raid force will do anything without at least 1 swashbuckler and brigand, not to mention killer dps (see #2) and some extra utility such as hate transfer. 2) A well played swashbuckler can and will compete for the top spot on zonewide DPS, regardless of the equipment and player skill among the competition in your raid. No, you won't be the one bragging about ripping 8K parses on single targets, but you'll always be near the top. 3) Also, a 1h-specced swashbuckler is probably the most effecient solo class in the game. Equipment & poison that procs heals combined with stellar avoidance, mitigation, and a good weapon will make you more or less a one man group. You probably won't be able to go 'toe to toe' with even con or higher heroic encounters but there are other options available such as kiting, chain stunning, etc that will give you an edge.

Thanks for the replies guys.

One more noob question please. What weapon is better for swashy to use? With longer delay or shorter? And damage rating means the overall weapon damage right? So the higher the rating the more damage the weapon does?
