I just came across this interview with Vhalen at IncGamers that contains a few lore tidbits and hints of things to come that the readers of this forum may enjoy.

We have the player Sarnak and the Di'Zok, the latter being the long lived brood of old. There is also the hint of another breed, but that is for another time. The newer Sarnak can find their true reason for existence within the ruins of their homeland and the temple of their conception. Both breeds are spawned from the knowledge of the Workshop of Kor-sha, a mythical fortress filled with arcane secrets.
I hope that does not hint that there will be a new playable race called the Skranas that are inherintaly good/neutral /sigh

Don't always need to type your mind either.

Wow Josgar. I'm disappointed. You post in this thread knowing full well that the article talks about Firona Vie and her fate in Norrath, yet you mention nothing of it. :p

The great shattering is Gods work, will they be able to undo what they've done and make the lands of Norrath look like they were before they became the shattered lands? The Shattered Lands were a result of the planar upheaval that occurred when the Gods departed. The mechanics of the universe brought about the Shattering, not the will of any God. Whether or not there is a way to reverse this effect remains to be seen, but it seems unlikely.

Does this question talk about Luclin's fate? Specifically the part that says, "The mechanics of the universe brought about the Shattering, not the will of any God." I always thought the Shattering was the event where Luclin exploded. I guess that quote eliminates the gods involvement.

I would assume that the lands that were once Antonica weren't the Shattered Lands until after the Shattering. Before that, I would assume they would be called "the Rent Lands" or something similar due to the Rending.

There is still a lot we (the players) don't know about the time between the exit (stage left ) of the gods and Luclin-go-boom

Workshop of Kor-sha? Sounds like a combined effort of the Guktan frogs and the Vah Shir (connection is probably just in mah head because 'Kor' was the name of the frog clerics in EQ1, and 'Khati Sha' was the lamented (by some ) Vah Shir Beastlords)

Within the interview, where I mention the Shattered Lands being a result of the universal mechanics, the word "Shattering" is mistakenly capitalized. This gives the impression that I am referring to the destruction of Luclin. This is not the case. What I was stating was that the shattering of old Antonica, the Shattered Lands, was brought about by upheavals within the universal mechanics and not by any deity.

The gods were removed from the world and events that occurred in the planes during their departure. Cataclysms were not confined to the mortal realms.
