Defiler, solo-able?

<p>I haven't played in a very..very long time, but now I am coming back. Last time I played I tried to solo a Defiler, this was when the game first came out, what I want to know is.. Are they any better? can they kill stuff now or.. solo?</p><p> Also, do you start out as your main class now? and are you able to betray after you've picked your main class?</p><p>thanks</p>

<p>Yes, defilers can solo (and pretty well too though it can be slow if you don't pick solo friendly achievments). I've pretty much solo'd my defiler alt from 1 to 47 at this point. I don't forsee it being any more difficult than soloing my mystic beyond that point (I leveled the mystic to 60 pre achievement points btw).</p><p>You do start as your main class now and there is betrayal within archetype.</p><p>defiler <-> mystic for example. But you couldn't start as a defiler and become a templar.</p>

I have a 68 defiler, honestly, it is painfully slow at times. This is compounded if you have other classes that burn mobs down quick. It is all what you are used to.

You start as your main class now, yes. You can betray, but only to the opposite / parallel class. e.g. Defiler to Mystic.
