Hi all. I am new to the whole mage thing. I've always played tanks, but my alt is a necromancer I've worked up to 56. I've seen on forums necromancers saying they solo white and blue ^^^ mobs. What is the strategy used to do this (both with and without tainted heals). I know I have difficulty soloing a green ^^^ even with a adept III tank pet. So there must be something I am doing wrong.

Ellos mate. Its very simple actually. The difference IS Tainted Heals.Solo'ing ^^^ heroics wont happend, or if it does, wont be worth it without TH.In all fairness, with tainted heals, my pet can pretty much solo any ^^^ blue or green. It takes a while, and theres no point to it, but its to make this very very clear: You NEED Tainted Heals to do the real heavy solo stuff.Effectively I have 5 spells to heal with, all hitting for at least 3000hp each. If needed i can run a spam rotation that pretty much never ends, because of reuse AA's and because of the 2 marks you can toggle off for a quick re-cast.On top of that, the mob has to be at least a WHITE ^^^ to need spam healing. Anything below that, and the heals are just every now and then, between your damage spell rotation. To sum up, there is no real "Solo'ing ^^^ heroics without Tainted Heals".Adept III's across the board makes it even easier I'm sure, but I have no experience with anything but AD3's.My mantra is: "We are kings among solo'ers before we get Tainted Heals, but we are GODS among solo'ers after we get it"

Aye what Miztery said.

You simply cannot solo heroics without it........maybe a barely grey/green, light hitting mob, with dmg obsorbtion AAs on pet, but you gonna make your pet mad at u if you just stand there giving him the puny pet heal.

I regularly solo the Iksar in Sebilis and it goes something like this:

-sick pet

-cast coil

-cast zombie

-other 2 dots

-chain, or stun, or any of the tainted heal spells

-coil if up

-Imps

-chain

-hit pet taunt AA

-lifetap

-TH spell

-TH spell

-Bats

-slow

-chain

-lifetap

-coil

Then he pretty close to dead, if not, just repeat some of those.

Main strat for me though to prevent getting aggro, is I always chain before hitting lifetap. And, if it is up, I will also use the pet taunt/pet hate clicky AA to make sure if the mob is thinking of hitting me, he looks at pet again. And, back up as far as you can, so you have reaction time if mob turns attention to you...you stun, pet taunt, chain sometimes fear (depending on situation) whatever you need to do, cause if you get aggro locked on u you are either dead, or burn FD.

Also, pick a blue heroic mob that does not have a heroic pet such as the ones above...hehe

Edited for wrong mob location typo.

Since you're avatar is 56 you should get the Yeheddua's (sp?) Caduceus. It's a chest drop off of one of the named in the living tombs in sinking sands. I don't use it much anymore since I've got tainted heals, but it rocks. It's a summoner-only weapon that heals your pet for 40% of it's max. health. The downside is that it's on a 15 minute recast
