View Full Version : What is this weapon?

Did some quests a while back in the jarsath wastes and an iksar from the legion of danak said they were keeping a powerful weapon locked away. If the dragons managed to get ahold of the weapon the legions of danak would have to call every single soldier they have back to the front lines just to survive a first wave attack. What exactly is the darslayer?

there were some 'darslayers' in SoS back in claymore days ^^ and there they were...well..at least they looked like common spears

My guess is a magic-based seige weapon like a balista or something.

If it was the sarnaks going on about it, ah would have said it sounds like a Norrathian version of the DragonLance

Hmmm, something that could take out the entire Iksar army in one wave? Sounds nasty and needs to be stopped, from anyone acquiring

I think the Darslayer is a spear. I don't see it being a balista type weapon, as they are hiding it at the Battlement and such a large weapon would probably be a bit hard to hide from dragons and droags.I think his big fear is that the Darslayer was able to bring down dragons of the Dar brood. which would be most of the Ring of Scale. Escorpa I don't think was a Dar, thus they had to battle her without the use of the Darslayer. if they lost the Darslayer, he says the war is basically over there. they wouldn't be able even with all thier manpower to stop the Ring but maybe 1 time.though yeah, it does sound remarkably like a Norrathian Dragonlance. Ganak used it against Jaled Dar, mounted on a Sokokar. I don't find it much a coincidence that mounted Iksar on Sokokar are refered to as Lancers.

Maybe it's a spear with such powerful magical energies, that just swiping it in front of you would create a devestating shockwave in the arc or something.

It has been never used since Ganak (supposedly) slayed Jaled dar with it. Seems to be more of a weapon of deterrent, preventing Ring of Scale from attacking ixsar, then a real weapon of power.

Maybe we should invade iraq to make sure they don't use it against us..

The artifact was used on the people that were transporting it and that's what created that nasty charred area within the ButcherBlock mountains. Atleast that's what I got from it all.

From the way it sounds the only thing I can surmize is that it is a powerful weapon. It could be a sword because of the "Slayer" title in it always asuming slayer = sword/cutting.
