I was wondering IF Berserkers do well against mobs in T8, kinda like a well setup Guardian would? Thank you in advance.

In EoF Legendary gear, all the overland mobs have been whacked with little problem. Can almost chain-pull, just have to pop that Bind Wound every other fight and be mindful of whatever racial heal/regen you have. One or two adds can still be done by popping our specials, like Open Wounds.

Just rather tedious. Single target after single target - there's so few linked mob encounters our green AE is gathering dust, while the Destruction is only really worth using on more powerful single targets.

Of the dungeons, only tried Karnors Castle myself. It was fine. Agro management doesn't appear to have become a problem. The mobs do hit harder than previous mobs, but having done the place with folk I've run other non-RoK instances with before we didn't find it oppresively difficult. Even saw a couple of mobs grouped in a linked mob encounter. /gasp

All in all, I've coped, but finding the absence of the linked mob encounters a bit of a downer.

no problems with lvl 80 beside you try tripple up heroics to solo, you can forget that. while leveling i used to get as much items with healprocs i could get when soloing. in groups i had never problems beside i pulled zones

Don't know if I was doing something wrong, or if the group I was in just sucked [Removed for Content], but we tried KC the other night. I'm a level 76 zerk with mainly EoF class gear and some T7 fabled gear. All spells are A3 or better, including my level 76 Offensive Stance M1. I was body pulling and almost dying after the second hit from these single mobs. Mitigation was over 5000 and had over 11,000 health. Don't know why these mobs were hitting like mack trucks, but I had to switch to Defensive stance in order to stay alive long enough for healers to do their job. Anyone know what the hell was going on?

I like to deal with it by pulling multiple encounters.

I solo healed the zone a while ago with my 73 Defiler with no problems with a not very good 77 Zerker tank.

I've been doing fairly well in Rok even though the mobs hit harder there. I've only been to KC once and that was at level 70. We managed to take down a few mobs before getting slaughtered lol. I'm willing to bet your healer just wasn't trying. I tanked CoA at 76 without too much difficulty and leveling I never had an issue unless I got several adds. I leveled through RoK to 80 with all EoF legendary and it's gotten easier now that I'm in RoK legendary.

As for the linked encounters, I find it sad that there are so few of them. I've found myself using Insolence in highly populated areas just for fun and an excuse to use Turmoil and Open wounds.

Yeah, I am having trouble too. I am 73rd in all T8 Master-crafted and these mobs are tough solo. I spend a lot fo time healing after kills and adds usually mean death, even when I use destruction and Open wounds. I am running through my heavy-hitter CAs and waiting for them to recharge while I heal. I found one set of green-grouped and they owned me quick. I don't think I took down even one.

I am having fun. The questlines rock and I am catching up on AAs. But I have to pay attention, I can't body pull 6 mobs then hit D & O on them and watch them fall, like I was doing in Barren Sky. And I cannot take down linked at all.

Sure, I am doing something wrong... But that's the way it is for my Berzerker on the Kylong.

So I guess a Guardian would be my better option then...lol

For all the content mentioned so far (mostly instances) a zerker is perfectly viable. Sure, we excel in linked mob encounters, but we do quite well with single heroics too, which the majority of instances have. As far as defense, guardian/zerker are pretty equivalent imo, Adrenaline helps quite a bit for a clutch defensive ability. As far as aggro I haven't had any problems so far, and that's with some pretty high parsing DPS classes in group.

Willian wrote:
So I guess a Guardian would be my better option then...lol
Our guild guardian and I progressed to 80 at about the same rate with the same difficulty and he was/is better geared than I am.

I (mostly) soloed from 70-80 in about a week, with occassional breaks to do instances. Tanked all the way through Karnor's at 75 (including the Sarnak Vampire dude in the basement). Tanked all of VOES at 76. Since then I've tanked every group instance in RoK with a single healer set up, even tanked Maiden's with only a Warden healing. I've also tanked all the T1 raid content and most of T2 raid content as well (I'm raid MT for the guild). You just have to consider that as with all tank classes, your level of success depends directly on your gear and your skill.

A good zerker with crappy gear can still solo fairly well if they're careful and know what they're doing. If you're having trouble, I'd suggest a couple of things. Take along healing potions (essence of regeneration is great) and power potions. Some of the other potions are nice too like tactics (crit), and thorns (damage shield). Grab some healing and power signets off the city merchant for emergencies. Make sure your self regen and group regen buffs are both up. Spec down to the Stamina end line (reduces power cost and converts some of that power to a heal), and when you start getting low on health spam your taunts and anything else that uses power and you will notice your health go up slighty. Save bind wound for between fights to heal yourself to full, rather then just for the damage boost if you're already at full health. Use your racial out of combat regen (if you have it) to save down time. Stay in Offensive stance for soloing instead of defensive so the mobs die faster. If you're in defensive and missing constantly, you'll get hosed a lot faster then you will if you're in Offensive.

Lastly, if you think a Guardian will solo better, think again. They still don't have the DPS we do and yes, I know that some high end Guardians can give us a good run for our money on single target DPS on a raid, but this is very much the exception rather then the rule.

Anyway, the only time I had any trouble was at 68, thinking I could handle lvl 69 and 70 Kunark mobs in my T7 mastercrafted at the time. It wasnt pretty. Once I started getting Kunark gear things evened out and now that I have a mix of T8 Mastercrafted and Kunark Legendary I kick some azz. I have very little problem beating solo ^ mobs 2 or 3 levels higher than me and I churn through normal solo mobs 1 or 2 levels higher quickly and easily. This is with most of my CAs still at Adept I.My advice would be to run through a little checklist of your gear and tactics. Personally I'd did the following:At 72: All Mastercrafted armor, weapons and jewelery. Swapped in some Kunark Legendary stuff like earrings with +2 crit or whatnot.Go buckler spec, just do it. Stamina Str and Int lines. lots of threads here on it, check out the excellent guide in this forum.Make sure your weapon is a longer delay (2.5+) with a big damage spread to maximize your crits.Make sure you use your shield CA's that knockdown. These are another great advantage of using a shield. Does damage, prevents damage, interupts spells. Love em. Use Accelleration Strike from the Int line to max your dps.Do as much upfront damage as you can. Get a good bow to pull with. Spring for decent arrows. Personally, I often pull with a bow shot and hit Bloodbath (AE) as they're running up so by the time they reach me it hits and they get knocked down. That's a good 2k+ damage and knockdown right off the bat. Cycle your abilities like Open Wounds and Destruction so you can use one or the other very often. I tend to save Juggernaut because it seems to make me take a lot more damage with it's debuff. Use weapon counter before every fight. Use wall of chaos or madness or whatever that one is that increases your mitigation for a short time before especially tough fights.
