I am an avid collector. Between my numerous toons I have completed more collections than I care to admit. I'm obsessed with completing them all. But since the release of RoK some interesting developments have arisen in the world of shinies.

First, let me begin by saying that I love the introduction of the Burynai housepet which rewards you with a random shinie when you feed it one of each fertilizer type. The problem is that when they implemented it, the pet started handing out collectibles that were currently not dropping in the game through the usual ?'s on the ground. I'm refering to items from collections such as:

Moon GemsSun GemsDesert AkhetsSolifugidsNayad ScalesKaladim CoinsFelwithe CoinsVultak Claws

...to name just a few.

Now this wasn't really a problem until SOE decided to remove some of these collection items from the Burynai pet's loot table while leaving some of them in. As far as I can tell, the Vultak Claws and the various coins are still dropping from the pet whereas things like the Moons Gems, Akhets, Solifugiuds, etc. have been removed.

We now have situations where some poeple have one or more of the items from the removed collections in their journal yet will never be able to complete them. Personally, this leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I want to know that I CAN eventually achieve a completed collection journal. Currently, this is not the case.

My plea is for SOE to reinstate any collection item that HAS EVER dropped in the game, back into the game. I don't care if those items drop from the Burynai or drop from shinies in some far off forsaken land - I just want to be able to acquire it if I have the means. Not having ANY chance to complete certain collections that I already have in my journal doesn't seem fair. Just my two coppers worth - thanks for listening

Was their an official posting from SOE stating those items were in fact removed from the Burynai loot table? I seem to recollect someone mentioning in a posting post-nerf of the burynai house pet that those dof gem collections specifically were still dropping. The nerf, in and of itself, drastically modified the drop rates simply because it now requires 3 fertilizers instead of 1, of which the compost drops only about 1/3 as often as the water and bones tend to drop about 2/3 as often as water. In effect, it now takes 3 times the amount of product to get 1/3 of the previous results so only about 10% of the number of items which were dropping are now being dropped. It is possible that getting those drops will just take you 10x as long to get UNLESS they have in fact been removed. If I had one wish for this game with regards to content it would be to quit removing quest from the game or making specific content expire (become unavailable to complete or start due to a level requirement (ie - city task)).

I wish they would just put in those collections and leave it at that. Why did they take them out in the first place anyway? They won't explain why these collections arn't suppose to be in the game.

There was an official posting saying they fixed the "Loot table" essentially of the Burynai. It was in response to the unusable Molar/Teeth of various kinds that were dropping. They didn't mention any specific items. I had the first response to the developers post asking if they removed the long lost collections and I said my fears that they did. I never got a specific response. But, sure enough they did.I wish they'd bring them back.

Yeah, I never saw an official response stating that those certain collections were removed but I can tell you that I do broker searches for them several times daily and over the past 3-4 weeks or so I have seen NONE of these collectibles for sale. I understand they may just be very rare but if someone were to get one from the burynai and realize the rarity of it, they likely would list it for sale for a sizeable sum which would likely mean it would remain for sale for a decent period of time where I would have caught it in one of my broker searches (at least on my server). I'm sure they have been removed.
