View Full Version : Reaver .....kill me!
just yesterday get finally reaver!!! yay 2% of my health each spell sound awesome......................but OMG!i lose 1 % health .....and with incombat regen i was losing more health that my spells can keep up.....i finally turned reaver off and quested 100% better.....why a final line AA has a downside? i dont get it.....so there is 2 options : get rid of 1% =S , not gonna happen >.<or add a chance to life tap the 2% heal =D nuke an life tap the mob 2% of sk healthmaybe i am doing something wrong but reaver hurt me more than help me >.< and i cast no stp (using taunts low lvl too while soloing)

Reaver works good if you cast a spell like every 2 secsTaunt, debuff, aoe and son work for that too.

The prob is that you loose a lot of hp in long autoattack fight's.The reactive heal is nice for some heal too, with all the lifetabs and reaver i heal quite a bit.Reaver does like 30%-50% of my own heals. Also the spell crit helps a lot for that too.

Hm .. a tick is what .. 3 seconds i think ? So normally you have to cast 1 spell every 6 seconds to get the 2% back that you loose in that 6 seconds.

I had reaver and recently respec'd out of it. The skills that lead up to reaver can be quite useful. Reaver itself I have mixed feelings about. Usually when questing, I'd take it off. I never really saw in increase in killing/questing speed with it. Although, for named mobs, or mobs that were resistant it would still work, regardless of resists (I think?). About the only thing I miss about it, even though I plan on getting it again at some point, is the skills I had that led up to reaver. With just autoattack, you'll die quicker...which means you HAVE to cast, spam those spells. This of course means you end up with less mana. So I guess it's a tradeoff between more health or more power. No one ever died from having to many hitpoints though.

I quit using Reaver. Mobs in RoK hit so stupidly hard, that I wasn't noticing any benefit. /shrug I finally just quit soloing, and started taking my roomie's defiler with me. I don't go out without her, so there's no need for Reaver anyway.

Guys we are not warriors or pallys or brawlers. We are mages in plate! We are a AoE heavy, Dot Heavy casting class 2/3 of out abilities are spells. All of wich will trigger reavers heal. Reaver will never crit you will always get 2% of your max health back as a heal.

Waiting for a auto attack is foolish as a Sk. Especialy if you are not in raid quality gear. Unless you turn off your auto attack you will always swing regardless of how hard you spam. Go out there and spam the hell out of your hot bar. And get healed by reaver. As long as you have a rotation that hold agro and you are on the ball when it comes to O snaps moments it realy doesnt matter.

Eh? Reaver is godly in AE encounters that SK is already awesome for.. If you never do AE encounters then the value of reaver is lessen.. If you hardly spam spells then the value of reaver is even less..

I am spec'ed in wis line fully and it works nicely with reaver. I don't even lose any health even standing in auto attack mode against friendly NPC and didn't see health to drop. I did have my health drops slowly before I added wis as 3rd line thanks to extra 20 AA.. 76 hp combat reg works nicely with reaver to offset its 1% health penalty easily.

I never had any issue with reaver even without wis line cuz I tend to be in AE encounters and the return of the healing power from reaver is at greatest that you wouldn't believe how useful it is.

I understand that the value of reaver is somewhat diminished in ROK due to horribly lack of group mobs that made most of our AE spells/CAs largely unused. I missed group mobs that we usually face in EOF.. Where is it for ROK?? Grr..

It was already bad in EoF compared to Kos, and now it even gets worse

I recently swapped back to wis line also. I have the regen at rank 7 and last i checked (leveled twice since I did it) I was at 16% in combat hp regen boost and an additional 76 hp regen so im actually ahead of reavers 1% take by about 8 or 9 hp a tick. I havent picked reaver back up yet need 1 more aa to get it back heh. But i'm looking forward to getting it back for aoe killing mobs in kylong and such while i help some of my lower guildies get through those quests.

In order to gain and not lose health, you must cast a spell atleast once every eight seconds. With one spell you gain 2% health, and lose 1% health every four seconds.

Since 70% of our abilities are spells, most of which you'd cast whether reaver is up or not, its not hard at all to be on the gaining side. And if you're in trouble, spell spamming with reaver up just might save your butt, or buy you some time for your lifetap ward to come back up.

Even though there are almost no linked encounters in Kunark I still find myself pulling a couple mobs at a time and using aoes lots. I mean I dont pull yellow cons but I can take down 2 even con or sometimes 3 blue con regular solo mobs. Most often I stick to 2 if its 3 its an accident unless I have a partner. Reaver really helps me be able to kill 2 or 3 in this fashion. I like the skill way more than I thought I would.

Seef Skar, Kithicor

I've always wondered why reaver doesn't convert the hps into power. What do others think?

As far as I'm concerned, RoK is terrible. It was a waste of money, and a waste of time to play.
